I dont think hiring somebody because they're bilingual is smart. If they have a guy who meets their criteria and happens to be bilingual then hire him.
The idiots are the ones who give Dusty no credit for obvious reasons. Yes it exists and is prevalent within the Astros fan base to have had a Black manager. Oh it burns them.
And those same idiots said anybody could have managed the Astros to a title to avoid giving Dusty any credit, now say “no way” to Ausmus shows what their agenda was.
Sorry I don't follow Not wanting Ausmus as a manager after not giving Dusty any credit reveals an agenda?
I typed out a response, but it's the responses to virtue signalers like the one you questioned that always got me in trouble. Lets try to ignore it and get back to baseball. Logic never works.
This season showed what happens when Dusty isn't controlled. No Click = barely makes the playoffs, put out by the Rangers. Skin color ain't got nothing to do with it.
He doesn't even realize that by crying racism for any criticism of Dusty because of the color of his skin, he IS the racist he claims others are. Now can we PLEASE get off this crap and get on with finding a new manager.
This is nonsense. The staff wide regression in pitching is the beginning and end of why the team did not match last year’s performance.
Bagwell made zero choices in free agency last year. Its pretty amazing how far that story has gone on. He went to talk to Abreu at the request of Crane, you know, Abreu, our second best hitter in the playoffs
The performance of the staff in 22 is the ONLY reason Dusty ever got a ring. He should thank them By the way, wasn't the entire city of Houston supposed to be thanking dusty about now?
Nonsense, pitching fell off, but also Dusty rarely put the best 9 on the field. Click never allowed Dusty that during playoffs. Dusty's management of game 6 cost us the ALCS
What exactly is the issue with Ausmus? We've heard for 2 years now in the Fire Dusty thread that the Astros were winning despite Dusty and that anyone who would just fill out the lineup properly would lead them to the World Series. Is there any evidence that Ausmus won't play Diaz and Chas regularly?
Being bilingual and familiar with hispanic players is a positive - but it isn’t why they hire the person they end up hiring. Also - don’t underestimate the importance of being culturally familiar is on the Astros and baseball in general.
