Why? Do you hate Sengun? Why do want him to end up like Harold Miner, Jordan Bell, Jaden Springer, etc.?
Hard to swallow pill for everyone. Even if you draft elite talents you probably are not going to win any championship with them because it's just too damn hard. You absolutely have to have a 1 superstar on your team and that superstar has to be an undisputed superstar i'm not talking about Butler, Tatum level of superstars i'm talking about Giannis, Lebron, Curry and Jokic level of superstars so we laid down the facts now, is him being the best player on this team is a problem? It is when you are sitting Lebron. The other guys are Jabari and Jalen. You have to ask this to yourself, do you believe that them being on the wheel instead of Sengun actually increases our chance to ever win a chip with this roster? IT DOES NOT. Because they do not have superstar genes either. So the only thing we could to with this roster is to find a way to maximize their individual talent and increase our odds. That's the only thing we can do because none of them can get us to the promised lands by himself. We don't have that dude trust me on this. So how can we maximize talent of our players and become a better team? By finding and prioritizing the dude who elevates others around him. That is Sengun. He finds the open man, is a good playmaker, post scorer, rebounder and he's unselfish. He will create open looks for you you just have to be ready for that. Only with Sengun (and maybe with Amen i just don't know what he's made of yet) we might just be Sacramento Kings. Being as good as them should be our long term plan. What do you think is going to happen with Jalen on the wheel? Honestly ask yourself when i look at him i see Beal, Mitchell type of player. Is he the one? Be f.king real you are all grown men watching this game since forever. 6'6, low-mid bbiq, inconsistent jumper, TERRIBLE defense, god awful decision making HOW IS HE GONNA MAKE US A BETTER TEAM?
Man, can we just win a game first, please. I’m tired of all these takes: championships, superstars, etc… it’s all delusions of grandeur. I just want us not to suck so much.
Small sample size so far, but looks like our starters overall have been doing ok. Bench, not so much. Of the starters, Sengun and FVV the best. https://www.nba.com/stats/team/1610612745/onoffcourt-summary?PaceAdjust=N
That's what i'm saying. To be a winning team we need to play through the guy who will elevate the team.
We've played two games and lost them both. I'm as big a fan of Sengun as anyone here, and his game is thriving under Coach Udoka, in my opinion, but again, it's only 2 games. These "grand pronouncements" either criticizing or praising how he's playing, couched to "decide" his play for the entire season, pro or con, this early? Give me a freaking break. Better yet, give the Turk a break. Someone earlier said something along the lines of needing at least 20 games to get a grip on how he's doing. That sounds reasonable to me. Having said that, I like what I'm seeing. I'll like it more with a couple of wins under our belt, and soon. There's a "night and day" difference between what Coach Udoka and his staff are giving the Rockets and the catastrophe under Silas. I'm really encouraged. Two games!
We need at least 20 games to get a grip on how everyone is doing. I actually feel encouraged by the team's game against the Spurs. And I trust Udoka and his staff.
I think Van Vleet is our overall best player, currently. But Alperen is probably our 2nd best one. And I'm considering his defense, of course. He's also 21 years old.
Don't waste your breath. Everyone who is not blind sees the truth. Blind ones still continue not to see.
Of course he does. Ime is smart enough to realize that he'll have to use Sengun somehow if he's going to be successful. He tried to play the entire overtime on him. A coach always tries to put the ball in the hands of his most trusted player in overtime. Udoka had previously said that Sengun is one of our most important pieces in attack. It shows.
No. I would not. I would also not trade Sengun (and what became Amen Thompson) for Scoot Henderson. I would also not have traded Sengun and what became Tari Eason for what became Jaden Ivey.
THIS IS HILARIOUS. This the same guy who was anti Sengun talking about how he should be traded and doesnt play defense and KPJ's #1 fan and now he's acting like he didnt say these things LMAO Holy **** X is funny.
Some of us have been making these "grand pronouncements" about Sengun for 2 years now. THIS ISNT NEW. Its just that under Silas he wasnt really showcased or given the chance on a regular basis.
I think he is actually admitting that he said these things, but now stating that he changed his mind. I would say that is commendable. Some others aren't quite there yet. Let's see if, by the end of this season, those who would have traded Sengun for much lesser players and who qualify almost every positive statement about him with "but his pick and roll defense", etc. will also change their minds. Not holding my breath in some cases, but let's see.
NO he's not admitting to anything he's just pretending that other people were haters and he had his back the whole time and simply didnt like his play style lol "I did not like his archetype" No you were a straight out hater the whole time.
@Clutch is still ready to ship Sengun for a bag of doritos. It's never easy to admit you've invested all your money in the wrong stocks.
