Is this what you're going to say after every loss?

Stone should have drafted Tari 3rd and Jabari 17th. His job would have been secure. :D

You joke but honestly it’s true. We’d be able to prioritize the better player.

Take tonight for example. Jabari was horrible and was the reason the game went to overtime. No reason he should have gotten a single moment of overtime action, but he’s the 3rd pick so they feel they have to let him, even if he doesn’t deserve it.

I think fans are both too hard on their own players while also overrating them and so takes like this are the result.

    Example.

This is a good representation of the players value going into the season, direct value, as it is polling people who make these decisions. No, it does not change after 2 games.

Our highest rated guy is Amen because he's a gift box, full of potential, who knows what he might be.

Bari is our 2nd highest and he's over a lot of other guys that people here salivate over. From Paolo to Jalen Williams to Wagner to Cade. I just find that funny because so many here have not been impressed with Mr. Smith yet it seems the league as a whole still has a lot more faith in him than many here. It's funny because I keep telling people GMs rate players on what they can be 4-5 years from now because those are the contractual decisions they have to make, not now.

This list does show that Green might be losing his luster. He really is in an important year. His perceived ceiling gets lower and he really needs to string a dominant stretch together soon where he looks like an elite guard.

I've never seen a worse game than the Magic game. The magic looked like an NBA team, we looked like an AAU team of g league cast offs

That alone should put Stone on the clock. Did all that losing, for what? A young team that can't shoot, too light in the cakes and low IQ, being led by an undersized over paid, slightly past his prime PG and an overpaid Dennis Rodman wannabee
New ownership would be nice too
Cmon Dream by your team back,

    This funny AF.

When the rookies are playing well people keep saying Stone doesn't deserve credit because all his top picks are obvious and no Brainer. That's what everyone said during SL and preseason.

But now if Jabari and Co are playing bad Stone deserves to be fired lol which is it?

For the record Free agent signings FVV and Dillon Brooks have been better than advertised. FVV keeping our offense alive and Brooks playing like a 20M guy. Even Jock Landale played well before he got concussed.

The worst player right now is the "obvious" pick Jabari who is the no 1 guy almost everybody would have picked at 3 besides DD who wanted Keegan Murray.

    better than advertised?
There’s been some irrational hate here on CF, by the pro-losing / pro-development crowd, but generally these were considered solid "gets" and paid handsomely. I personally expected more, TBH. There is still too much reliance on the kids who haven’t shown anything yet.

And what’s the deal with Bullock and Holiday? Why do they get so little burn? Are they actually worse than the kids, or is there still pressure from above to play the kids?
I’d like to know. I mean, is Holiday actually worse than Amen? I thought he was a decent back-up. Why is Amen even playing in the 4th qtr? He should be getting like 5-7 mins in the 2nd qtr to get his first taste of competitive basketball, and then sit in the 2nd half and watch…

We're using a 1.5% and a 3.0% distance between Jabari and the next two guys as evidence of something, and then extrapolating all of the above off of that? :D

C'mon fellas. 20 Random NBA executives...

Agreed. If we are going to complain about a pick, Jabari is an odd one to single out.

Evan Mobley over Jalen Green was hotly contested and is a fair discussion to have. While I do still believe in Green, a Mobley/Alperen frontcourt makes me salivate...

How much more do you expect? No one considers them superstars so not sure what you expect.

For comparison FVV and Brooks are seen as a similar or even inferior talent to D Angelo Russell and Austin Reaves and they are performing around the same level.

Rotation is not Stone its on Udoka.

Bullock and Holiday are considered end 2nd stringers or 3rd stringers.

Only the Rockets hype them up to be more.

I am nice enough to not call them useless but going against good NBA players, those 2 would not look good other than in spurts.

You are suggesting them because the Rockets are in dire need of good NBA player talents.

I think it’s perfectly believable and have been saying for 2 years that in 5 years very few if any of these young players will be Rockets. Yet I think all of them will eventually be good NBA players. That’s just the reality of how NBA contracts work and how GM’s self serve in rebuilds rather than play the long game.

My guess is Stone will start as soon as this season making trades for established players so he doesn’t have to be judged by the long term results of an extension on Green, Sengun, then Jabari.

Of all of our prospects though I still am on Jabari island and have been for more than a year now. Not because I think this year or even with the Rockets he’ll be a superstar. No I think it’ll take years for him to mature physically and by that time he’ll be a very humbled veteran player who ends up being an extremely valuable and sought after versatile NBA big man in the mold of an Al Horford type.

A seasoned and physically matured 28 year old Jabari Smith will be a totally different player than the 20 year old string bean version we see now. Unfortunately I doubt he’ll be a Rocket then unless he comes back in free agency years later. My best guess is he’s traded in the next 18 months and is a bit of a journeyman until he physically builds grown man strength then you’ll see him become a fixture in someone else’s rotation.

Jabari could prove me wrong and have more of a Lamarcus Aldridge/Portland type of career here but I don’t see the offensive consistency yet for him to be extended and planted in the rotation. Jabari will probably be ultimately valued more from the skill set and physical traits that Horford brings which will take more time and won’t come for years.
