it's a wild rumor and wishful thinking, not fact. Misinformation would be claiming it was from the Russian news or some other valid source on the matter. at no point was I trying to present it as a fact.
I've read that the Russian FSB leaks these rumors every once-in-a-while to see if anybody acts in a not ideal way.

The guy obviously isn't a dumb politician. However his voting history, and previous comments that offer insight into his agenda tell a completely different story though. Yes... when elevated into a serious position, people can elevate their thinking, and become a more rational pragmatic version of themselves that they displayed when the stakes didn't matter. Cam Whitmore might not take 3 shots a minute when he's playing in a regular season game with the starters. However that history does matter right now. He has a pretty horrible record on many things that would qualify you for a leadership position given what is on the table for the United States in the next few years. If he wants to change his positions, and ideology overnight than that'll be a welcome surprise for sure, but I would not for 2 seconds trust what he says on Ukraine.
