What would happen if Trump were to renege on the NATO agreement and ignore the requirement for collective defense? If Trump insists on not being part of NATO, one probably should assume that he will do this. Congress cannot migitage it.

    Nice move, Putin.

Sweden one step closer to NATO membership thanks to Turkey

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has submitted a protocol for Sweden’s admission into NATO to Turkey’s Parliament for ratification, his office said Monday, bringing the Nordic country a step closer to membership in the military alliance.

Erdogan had dropped his opposition to Sweden’s membership at a NATO summit in Lithuania’s capital in July but still delayed sending the protocol to Parliament for ratification.

All 31 NATO allies must endorse Sweden’s membership. Turkey and Hungary are the only two allies that have yet to ratify it.

Sweden and its neighbor Finland abandoned decades of military nonalignment and sought protection under NATO’s security umbrella after President Vladimir Putin ordered Russian troops to invade Ukraine in February 2022. Finland joined the military alliance in April after Turkey lifted its objections to its membership, saying Helsinki had taken steps to address Ankara’s security concerns.

They can always impeach him again lol. Seriously though if he gets elected once more after the hell this country's gone through we deserve to let him burn it all down.

If anyone was ever in need of a mandatory Soviet style but American aligned reeducation course it's @Commodore I actually don't know if he can be saved. He's an example of consuming only Fox News and social media for a decade.

Why do right wingers take the opinions of hedge fund managers seriously. Nobody gives a flying **** what hedge fund billionaires want. They're the most hated group in America yet the right hugs their nuts at every possible turn.

Our military response is designed to handle wars across different fronts. I can't say what we're dealing with now is worse than the height of the war on terror. It's just Russia and China are nuclear threats while the fear and paranoia level boosted by the media then was on a different scale.

Another thing is that our allies are increasing spending and aid in our initiatives, which means we aren't fighting it alone. Contrast this with dipshit Trump who wants to destroy nato while bragging isolationist creds at home, and that's where you know where the two parties differ.

The original story from Bild is behind a paywall and is in German, but the former director of Roscosmos, who is a real POS, tried to set up loading a Soyuz rocket with 9 tons of explosives and dropping it on Kiev, but there were some technical issues.

Rogozin offered Putin to drop a Soyuz rocket with a large amount of explosives on the capital , — Bild with reference to secret recordings of phone conversations of Putin's inner circle.

According to the publication, a group of Russian officials planned to modify the civilian Soyuz launch vehicle in such a way that it would not reach orbit after launch and fall in one of the large regions of Ukraine. Most likely, to Kyiv.

Bild reports that the plan was brought to Putin on January 16. How he reacted to it is unknown.

    Real War

Audio recording of Rogozin's conversation with Dmytro Baranov, director general of the Progress rocket and space center, on the topic of "strike on Kyiv"

Interlocutors say that up to 9 tons of explosives could be loaded into the Soyuz launch vehicle. At the same time, there is a problem - parts of the missile could fall on the territory of the Russian Federation, since the error during the strike on Ukraine could be up to 100 km.
