Except they pitched better when Diaz caught.

I thought they had the talent to win another WS.

    Agreed about Bagwell

I was in that stretch of half asleep and half awake when I got up this morning so I didn't catch the name. But I heard a relief pitcher from the 2006 Cubs praising Dusty. How Dusty knew it was his last season managing with the Cubs and asked him what were his incentives in his contract. Said pitcher thanked Dusty for calling on him as much as he did, meeting those incentives.

Cannot lie, I thought about Maldy catching every single day. Going to miss Dusty's Too $hort references.

I hated his love affair with Maldy and other highly questionable decisions but I'll give him flowers for his unprecedented success year after year...yes even this season included. I appreciate what he did for us after this franchise was at the lowest point. Farewell Dusty. You are a living legend.

The worst the Astros finished in 4 seasons of Dusty is losing 2 - Game 7s in the ALCS. 3 Divisions, 2 Pennants, and 1 WS win in 4 years as a manager is an incredible run.

Thanks Dusty, I hated your love affair with Maldy but overall, it was a great fit and now it's time for both parties to find a new partner. Peace Out

    It was a good run.

Incredible would be if the Astros weren't already the Astros before he arrived.

Look at Roberts with the Dodgers. Having a great team doesn’t automatically mean success.

Maybe Roberts is a lesser manager.

All things considered, Dusty's run was not incredible.

If he didn't kiss Maldonado's arse as much as you kiss Dusty, the Astros likely have another pennant.

Maldy wasn’t the reason, Tucker, Pena, and Framber were the reasons.

Before he arrived: 1 ring; 1 pennant; 3 ALCS
After he arrived: lost Cole, Springer, Correa, Verlander (injury + FA) + scandal fallout: 1 ring; 2 pennants; 4 ALCS

Dusty Baker had an incredible run with the Astros. Come on...

Maldonado wasn't the sole reason. It was the combination of his playing vs a much better player not playing.

Dusty CHOSE to play an inferior player.

Considering Arizona and Texas "has the talent" to make it to the World Series... we had the talent to win the World series.

When the Rangers beat us in games 1 and 2 because bottom of lineup production where we just conceded the 9 hole intentionally...
