''Jalen can only score in transition and when the defense isn't set'' - President of the anti-Green club
"I haven't shown that I can win, play defense, or be a leader..." The first step to growth is a clear picture of reality. Jalen really seems built the right way to keep making steps.
Idgaf what anybody else thinks, I'd still put my money on Green being one of our all-stars in the near future more than any other player on the roster.
That clip tells me that he is aware of the narrative regarding him (sounds a lot like some of the folks here on Clutchfans) and it's totally up to him to change that narrative. I like what I have seen so far, but need a larger sample size of improved defensive effort and playmaking. If he can indeed become a better defender and improve his scoring efficiency this young man has All-Star appearances in his future.
I don't think anyone is questioning his effort, he seems to be a driven young man. Let's see it translate to the floor this year....this team is dying for a leader. DD
Ya this stuff will help Green's change of pace variation. His issue isn't deceleration. He can start and stop with the best of them. His issue is when he stops he gets bumped off his course. A slowdown bag requires some strength in the core
I'm glad he is taking responsibility for his (lack of) defense and leadership (the former being godawful, the latter being an understandable lapse given the lack of real coaching and veteran guidance until now).
One rebound in 30 minutes. One. Rebound. In a game full of missed shots, he managed to grab exactly one of them. I mean, damn, anyone alive could get one rebound just by accident! He might want to put in a little more work I'd say.
Trade him while he's young. I'm not kidding. We just got unlucky in the draft that year, and maybe Silas didn't help, yadda yadda. But a winner would never talk and laugh like this guy after a game #1 drubbing. He's not a freaking rookie, and there are no learning experiences to absorb in a beatdown from a mediocre (at best) team. He's just not the guy to take us out of the lottery. Fire Stone. Trade Green while he still has possibly any value.
I don't know what this means, but I'll go ahead and approve. I am sick to death of this rotting corpse of a team, my beloved Rockets a laughing stock of the whole L. (I guess you're comparing me to DuhDakota, and whatever, man, that's low.) Jalen is nothing to build on. Zilch.
