I say the final test for a refugees to be granted basic civil rights in America is they can outrun @DaDakota in a 3 mile run. DD let's talk to the state department to see if we can make this a thing.
I knew you would like that - 5 years is enough time to integrate and earn citizenship and it allows us to protect our country from those that want to subvert it. I do think we should though go ahead and grant statehood to Guam and Puerto Rico - as well as any other US Territory that has taxation without representation....but we are getting off topic.... Has the IDF attacked yet? Is HAMAS still around? Going to place Fchowboy on ignore - while I enjoy the banter at times - I am certain the rest of the board does not. DD
What do you think about a final test involving a 3 mile run where they have to beat you. This has multiple benefits: 1. You can be the hero that prevents a future terrorist from becoming a citizen by outrunning them. 2. You burn some calories.
Israel is tiny - and we are having to listen to all those Islamic and Muslim dominated countries saying Israel must give up land......I mean come on. Religion is a cancer DD
They must give up some land if we want a workable two state solution. They control almost all of the resources.
But the Israelis did make a ton of concessions to the Palestinians and irafat walked away. Palestinians got almost everything
That's not wrong, but that was 23 years ago. A lot of suffering people on both sides of this stupid conflict weren't even born when that deal fell through.
Who do you negotate a 2 state solution with? Hamas does NOT want a 2 state solution. Their stated goal and objective is the elimination of Israel as a whole. During the 1990s even when the IDF was withdrawing their troops from west bank as part of the oslo accords Hamas still wanted to bomb israel. They were never for peace or a 2 state solution. I keep asking all the pro rally people who went to the protest this question and none of them can answer my questions.
And on the other side we have zionists. It's not just one side being religious extremist it both side
Also there are still some 600 Americans trapped in Gaza and there doesn’t appear anyway of getting them out.
You don't give it up to Hamas. First Israel would have to dismantle the settlements and show they were serious. Then don't start transferring to until Hamas is gone.
Yep. Huge issues. Nothing will be easy. Sadly, the easiest thing for all parties involved, will be to just keep repeating these cycles over and over. Hopefully at some point, leaders will emerge that can start doing things differently and make the difficult decisions needed.
There you go. Purity politics gets you no where in life. What resources did Israel ask for? Gaza would have their port with no Israeli blockade and the Palestinians would control the airspace over Gaza even. Cmon that was a deal of a lifetime. The issue is Yasir deep down believed in the armed struggle. He thought he could take it all. Thats the issue Israelis DID begin dismantle their settlements in the 90s and Hamas was still asking for the total destruction of Israel.
