"Listen, and understand! Altuve is out there! He can't be bargained with. He can't be reasoned with. He doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And he absolutely will not stop... ever, until you are dead!"
Sounds like this Rangers Insider is the one butthurt to me. Give me a break. Abreu isn't going to risk everything at that point of the game by blatantly trying to hit a player. He's just not that stupid or vengeful. Haters are gonna hate, but it's not going to stop us from winning. We have the hearts of Champions, and you can't take that from us.
Don’t get too far ahead of things. The Astros still have to win one more and have lost 2 in a row many times. I wouldn’t count out the Phillies either. I hope you are right though.
Even if it WAS intentional, it was Garcia's reaction that cost them the game. If he just went to first, there's no delay and LeClerc probably does his normal thing in the 9th. It's the difference between a calm and collected team and one that doesn't know how to control their emotions. If you're Garcia in that scenario, getting on base was a good thing for you.
Mountain man approves HEYYYY HEYYYY HEYYYY HEYYYY HEYYYY HEYYYY HEYYYY HEYYYY HEYYYY HEYYYY HEYYYY HEYYYY HEYYYY HEYYYY HEYYYY HEYYYY HEYYYY HEYYYY HEYYYY HEYYYY HEYYYY!!!!!
That is the thing about name calling....it usually says more about the person talking than who they are talking about.
Coming from a bunch of people who have lawn chairs for furniture, you just can't expect them to be classy. It's like Honey Bobo type cringe worthy reality TV at that house in the video at the bottom.
Hope I am wrong, but its probable a Astros hitter gets HBP in GM6 IMO. Wonder who the Rangers will target and what the fallout will be?
Let's hope it doesn't come to that. Altuve, Alvarez, and others have dodged enough wild pitches coming at them as it is. The only difference is that they didn't just stand there and not move.
The number of awesome things you can discuss about this game before getting to Garcia's clown show act and Altuve cementing his legend, is pretty bananas: - Abreu's ass-throw for a crucial out - Singleton, still wiping away cobwebs, drawing a crucial walk - Kessinger, also wiping away cobwebs, making a Pena-like defensive gem - Pressly - far and away the greatest closer in Astros history - getting out of not one but two 2-on/0-out jams, including facing 1-2-3 in the 9th. Games 2 & 5 of the '17 World Series and game 5 of the '22 World Series may be the only postseason games I'd rank above this one. Game 6 of the '19 ALCS ended incredibly - but I'm not sure it was *this* dramatic. And game 1 of the '22 ALDS is up there - but the stakes in that one just weren't as high as they were last night.
He’s obviously great at building a winning team. The Astros had some serious organizational issues during his tenure. I’m not sure if he created that culture, but as GM he was responsible for it. It hurt the Astros reputation, they lost draft picks, and it impacted the owners pocket book. So I am not surprised another team hasn’t taken a chance on him. He may also not be interested in another baseball job too.
