Red cross did help during ww2 in nazi occupation in where ever it could. The idea of forcing regular citizens to suffer is insane. You need help seriously https://www.redcross.org/about-us/n...ped-when-german-forces-occupied-guernsey.html
If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing. -Malcolm X Tru to this day. Western media have folks cheering for israel as they deny food water and electricity to the palestine people. Hamas is the terrorist org, while Israel is doing the oppressing and the palestine is the oppressed.
Did the people of Guernsey hold Red Cross employees as hostages? The government of Gaza is holding US citizens as hostages. The US government sends $100m aid under the control of that government.
Hamas equivalent act carried out by these settlers, let’s hope there is justice on this end as well and we don’t allow senseless violence to take place only for one side Gaza conflict spills into the West Bank as settler attacks and clashes leave dozens of Palestinians dead Zeena Saifi, Becky Anderson and Kareem Khadder, CNN Wed, October 18, 2023 at 11:21 PM CDT Ibrahim Wadi, 62, and his son Ahmad, 24, were on their way to a funeral for four Palestinians shot dead by Israeli settlers in their occupied West Bank community, when their car came under attack. The father and son were driving through the small village of Qusra, just south of Nablus, which has become a focal point of violence over recent days, when they themselves were fired upon by armed settlers on Thursday. Family members told CNN that the men were transferred to a nearby hospital and died of their wounds soon after. They are among at least 61 people, including children, to be killed in the occupied West Bank since October 7, when Hamas launched its unprecedented, surprise assault on Israel, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health there. More than 1,250 have been injured. ADVERTISEMENT Hamas’ attack has left more than 1,400 people dead in Israel, mostly civilian, with at least 199 believed to be held hostage inside Gaza, according to Israeli authorities. Israel announced a “complete siege” of the enclave in response, carrying out widespread airstrikes across the Gaza Strip that left at least 3,478 people dead and threatening a ground invasion, according to the health ministry in Gaza, which is controlled by Hamas. Meanwhile, tensions are mounting in the West Bank, where Palestinians have been killed in confrontations with both Israeli forces and settlers. Hani Odeh, Qusra's mayor, was also going to the funeral and witnessed settlers in a street where Ahmad and Ibrahim were killed. - CNN Hani Odeh, Qusra’s mayor, told CNN that settlers roam freely in the village under the protection of Israeli police. He said he had informed a member of COGAT, Israel’s Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, that he was going to attend the funeral, along with Ahmad and Ibrahim
You are completely unable to detach the people of Gaza and the Hamas government. It's really odd I honestly think it's due to your Islamophobia and some deeper cause. Have you thought about seeing a counselor?
How do you suggest Hamas can be eradicated if they embed themselves in the Gaza population? They control the population. They are the government. The US helped build up Germany AFTER WW II. First, beat and eradicate Hamas. Then, let's all send money to feed and educate Gaza civilians. Sending money to Germany while the Nazis were in power would have been absurd. Same goes for Gaza and Hamas.
It's for the civilians. Cutting off all electricity, water, and food to Gaza holds the entire civilian population hostage by denying basic human necessities to the people. This act of collective punishment against the civilian population is unethical and meets the definition of terrorism, using the deprivation of basic needs of the people to achieve political or military objectives.
Hamas are the ones holding the civilians hostage. They steal from the civilians. Sending money there keeps Hamas in power longer. They are clearly not too poor or starved to fire more rockets against Israel, every day. Germany as a whole had to be brought to its knees to get the Nazis out of power. Unfortunately, I see no other way to get Hamas out of power than for Israel to take control of Gaza. Since Gaza is governed by a hostile, murderous, terrorist army, Gaza as a whole is the enemy of the West, until and unless Hamas is out of power and eradicated. It will be better for innocent and peaceful Palestinians in the longer run.
Proisrael folks thinks it's justify to commit war crimes to combat terrorists. Blame the terrorists and u have a free pass. In reality once u stoop to the levels of terrorists, u are literally the same thing u hate in folks eyes.
Germany were not terrorists. It was a country going out of its way to exterminate Jewish people and other groups, essentially commiting countless of war crimes to do it. US governement did not have orders to commit war crimes or stoop to Germany level of systemically targeting a specific group. The examples aren't even comparable. Hamas commits depraved act vs Israel = terrorists group inflicting damage on innocent people without disregard to rules. Israel commits war crimes vs palestine = a country that's hurting innocent people without disregard to the rules. Hence the protesting around the world that isn't tainted by western (US) media bias. Israel stooped to the levels of terrorists and its triggering when we have proisrael people attempt to justify it. No one forced Israel to deny food water and electricity to the innocent palestine people. They decided to punished/harm the innocents bc of the acts of terrorists.
Many of the Allied commanders admitted that if they had lost the war they could’ve been tried for war crimes for things like the bombing of Dresden. The causes of the Allies in World War II was just but how it was fought was very morally ambiguous.
Buying into ATW's comparison is not good either. It's a bad faith comparison. Nazis were a superpower who's major crimes boil down to one sentence: They removed the ability of groups of humans to have self determination. One party in this conflict between Israel and Palestians is more closer to that line and they ain't the stateless people.
Yes in terms of power Hamas or the whole of the Palestinian people aren't comparable to Nazi Germany. That still doesn't give moral cover to the actions of the Hamas. My main point though isn't to note that wars are rarely fought morally. WWII is often brought up as an example of a "good war" yet the "good guys" in that war firebombed and nuked civilians.
Also we have to remember WWII was 80 years ago, a world wide struggle with the fate of civilization hanging in the balance. Just because things were done those when then doesn't mean we have to do them now.
