I'm beginning to wonder if he truly doesn't understand what he is doing wrong. His reactions appear that way. One foul last night a Spur is driving the lane and Sengun steps forward getting him with his body and brings his hands down then looks totally confused what he did wrong. It's the same things he has been doing since day one in the NBA. Could it be in Europe the game is called much differently and he just isn't adjusting? I don't know the answer it just seems like he should have adjusted by now. I think he will eventually get that we can't constantly have him in foul trouble and I trust Ime much more than Silas to get the message across.
Yeah I'm not missing any of this. I get it. But the point you're trying to make just falls flat when it comes after the flock of SOFs have already posted putting the blame on Sengun.
Nba is soft no doubt about that. Half of his fouls aren't fouls in europe. This legaue is fking clown show if i'm being honest even the slighest bumps are called foul. They are essentially telling you that bb isn't a contact sport which is absurd. It is designed for offensive players and defenders are just there to fill the picture. Like trees in a school play. I think he has improved significantly he looked almost perfect on few days ago i don't remember the game. Even with 5 fouls he did good against spurs but i don't expect him to look as good this right off the bat. He will gradually get better.
lol look at this douche bag jerking off to two preseason games. Keep that same energy when we bump this post all season
Didn't you 65 iq gang say the same things last year? sengun had subpar preaseason games, bruno was doing fine, scoring, assisting (had 7 assist one game) and you started sengun should sit campaign just to turn your back on bruno after couple of games.
Sengun needs to train his lower body like a football player to become a better defender. European players have soft workouts that don't include heavy weights. Nurkic, Valencionas, and the Chicago bulls center are all defense liabilities.
I’m struggling to understand why ALP can’t put up these types of numbers - Jokic makes it look effortless and he’s less athletic than Sengun.
They may be weak defenders but I wouldn’t suggest that any of those guys have “weak” lower bodies. In fact they’re both pretty strong down low, especially Nurk. He and V were both bumping people right off them with their hips the last few seasons, whenever Nurk wasn’t hurt. I think Portland could have really made a run before he got hurt.
Yeah that's just the way it is in the NBA and players coming from other regions of the globe have to adjust if they want to be successful in the NBA. It's stupid that there are multiple standards applied to players based on their marketing status (star treatment). Immediate changes Sengun can do is resist the urge to reach and keep his arms straight up when defending the post. Don't worry about trying to block every shot just stand tall and be ready to go after the rebound. If the guy scores so be it. Can't stop them all. I believe he'll get it.
Problem is those are changes I expected to see LAST season. He should have made those changes regardless of coaching.
This raises a very good point. Usually this would've been coached out, but we didn't have coaching the last couple of years.
Sengun is in a small slump. There's a simple way to get him out of it. Spoiler Bring back miss translator.
