Well if you want to feel better, go look at the Nevada legislature results from 2022. Democrats have created the inverse of Wisconsin over there.

Democrats are stripping away peoples rights in Nevada?? Yes all Gerrymandering is bad but it's specifically bad when you're forcing unpopular bills through these rigged rights.

Abortion polls at 70% and youre stripping away these rights after you rigged the court and flipped a member by bribery

I was referring to the fact that Democrats formed a near supermajority in the Nevada legislature despite winning only 41% of the overall vote (granted some of that was due to uncontested races). They won over 80% of the seats in the Las Vegas metro with 51% of the vote in the county. Nevada Democrats created the Democratic equivalent of the Wisconsin gerrymander.

Just pointing out that Democrats in Nevada were as ruthless of Republicans in North Carolina and Wisconsin and created an absurd gerrymander that makes them virtually untouchable. They'll likely get their supermajority in 2024 and will basically override the governor at will.

Gerrymandering is destroying this country and its why the first bill biden tried to pass last year was HR1 which bans is nationwide and takes away money from politics. We both agree it's an issue.

The bigger issue is when you rig the system and then do very very unpopular things.

    Good. Game theory approves.

Unilateral disarmament doesn't work and may even make things worse.

The thing that would be noted here is that he said these publicly on social media for clout and popularity.

That means these psychopathic views like the Kent State students deserving to get shot are popular sentiments by the right.

And people still get all uppity when we say fascism is on the rise. "tHe lEfT lAbels AnY tHiNg tHeY dIsaGrEe with as FasCiSt"

These sentiments are POPULAR. It gives you positive engagement and a following when you say **** like this. Hence fascism is on the rise.

    Guess I spoke too soon...

NC Rep. Tricia Cotham switched parties. Here are 2 possible routes for her political future
    CharlotteObserver.com
BY DAWN BAUMGARTNER VAUGHAN UPDATED OCTOBER 19, 2023 12:08 PM

As soon as state Rep. Tricia Cotham switched from the Democratic to Republican party in April, giving Republicans a supermajority in the North Carolina General Assembly, speculation began about her future political career.

Democratic voters were the ones in Mecklenburg County who elected her in 2022.

If she runs for office in 2024, under the new redistricting maps released by the General Assembly on Wednesday, she would have options. There are proposed districts at both the state and federal level that include her area and have no incumbent who would run against her.

Republicans drew the maps in secret, and with their supermajority in both chambers can easily pass legislation. Redistricting bills are not subject to a signature or veto from the governor under state law. The maps have a committee hearing this week, with votes expected next week.

I am curious if this was part of the deal to get her to switch. She's very pro-firearm and sounds like she might've been getting friction from Democrats over her stances. It's possible she figured that switching parties in exchange for a better district ot run in in the next election was a good plan.

That sounds shady enough to be believable.

If true, all she had to do was betray her constituents and the people that elected her.

    Let's hope it backfires spectacularly.

Either a deal in advance, or else the party thought to reward her for the double-cross. Either way, gerrymandering is terrible for democracy. It needs a real fix.
