    There isn’t one.

He is the best defensive player in NBA history.

Dude was a killer. Hall of Famer yet still somehow underrated.

Easily the greatest defensive player of all time. His defensive impact on the game is as big as Jordan's offensive impact on the game - and the game is exactly half defense, half offense. I'd argue his routine offense is better than Jordan's routine defense.

Personally I think he could have been the greatest NBA player of all time if he were drafted to a team that could surround him with other stars in their prime.

They call it the Hakeem Olajuwon trophy for a reason!

That’s annoying that Kia is on there. I would get that etched off if I won.

He is the best defender I've seen and would be even better today

Some defenders that I've been impressed with throughout the years, in no order:
    Draymond
    Ben Wallace
    Kawhi
    Lebron
    Rodman
    KG
    Gary Payton
Chuck Hayes (didn't have an all time great impact, but he really impressed me)

Defenders who is very overrated imo
Rudy Golbert (been saying this for years)

I met Sleepy Floyd at the McDonalds on 521 after Willowridge kicked my HS basketball team's butt.

When my wife first moved here from Brazil, and was still learning about the Rockets, they showed Dream on TV doing his thing, some news or documentary or whatever. She looked at me: "Tem lagrimas nos seus olhos?" Are there tears in your eyes?

    You.....just......don't understand. Just accept it.

This was a clue on Jeopardy today in the category : Rocket Man

This NBA center was “The Dream” leading the Houston Rockets to the 1994 and 1995 NBA Titles

    Hakeem Olajuwon

The most fun player I've ever followed. I had two reasons to watch the Rockets then. To see the Rockets win and to see Hakeem play.

I'm jealous of all of you all that were able to follow his whole career. I was 6 and 7 when the Rockets won their first championships and I remember loving those days, but I didn't really start watching basketball religiously until I was 8-9. So I only got to see the tail end of Dream's career.

I think at his peak compared against others in their peaks, he was a top 5 all time player. He gets penalized a bit in all time discussions because he didn’t sustain the offensive domination as long as he did the defensive domination AND….he was soft spoken.

…if he had Shaq’s mouth on him, he would likely be considered a unanimous top 10 all timer.

….also - someone refresh my memory - but he was the first dominant international player, right? I can’t think of anyone before him.

You are correct. Hakeem was the first dominant international player in the NBA and nobody since has matched his greatness.

He was so good it almost got boring. He made everything look so routine that you'd take it for granted after a while. People remember the blocked shots, but he got a HELL of a lot of steals too. The dude was just on a completely different level from everyone else.
