Abreu has FIVE* career HRs vs Heaney. There might be an XBH sighting early in the game. *per postgame show (not sure if they said 4 or 5) .
That was the first run given by by Bryan Abreu in 16 post season appearances dating back to the beginning of the 2022 playoffs. It also broke a streak of 32 straight appearances with 33 IP with no runs allowed since July 16. It took a weak hit off the end of the bat to do it.
Christian Javier owns the record for the lowest batting avg against for pitchers with at least 40 IP in the post season. It's a miniscule .123
It’s only one game. I don’t want to get too confident the Rangers are gonna come out with all they can on game 4 but if we beat them then I like our chances …
Need MOAR WS wins. . If we don't win another WS, we da worst team of all time. I was talking with Brother @Nook a night ago before the win last night, and concurred that this is already such a tremendous run they've been on since what, 2016/2017? It's amazing to watch and it took me taking a small break to realize how fortunate we have been as Houston fans to watch this team legit contend for a title year after year. We've simply never seen sustained excellence like this. Sure the Astros of the 90s and early 00s were really good, but they never got over the hump. (Go **** yourselves Atlanta). This is something else these days! I sure hate when they lose though or go down 2-0 to the hicks in South Oklahoma (apologies to those Astro fans in South Oklahoma). Such is life. LFG ASTROS!!!!!!!
I hope they sweep and wait for us on the other side of the bracket 9-1 in the playoffs with home field advantage at their unbeatable ballpark.
I feel much better about our chances this morning. If not for the two HR's by their 3rd baseman it was pretty much a complete shutdown and dominate performance by the Astros. I have no idea why we can't play like that at home.
For some reason the Stros just seem to lose focus at MMP. There really might be something about feeding off of the negativity of the road the road fans.
