I saw someone say they're an attorney and said it's obvious she's protecting her truth to make money from a book down the line. For some reason I don't see the comment anymore so I can't quote it. I see no one here wants to talk about the real issue. The fact that NYPD and the DA straight up lied and rushed to spread false allegations about this black man. Because of his popularity or "celebrity" status, this fit their agenda. The same thing happened to Jonathan Majors months ago in NYC. His court date keeps getting delayed for some (obvious) reason. I don't know if this Clutchfan member is an actual attorney who really covered high profile cases, but she's not just protecting her truth for some book to make money down the line. The NYPD and their DA ****ed up by publicly (and falsely) accusing this man of strangulation/breaking her vertebrae. That's an extreme accusation, which was the main reason why the Rockets said he couldnt be part of the team. Rockets would have gotten sued for waiving Porter. Stone, who's a real attorney, knows this. She's coming out saying this (mentioning having audio recordings etc) because she's building her case against NYPD and the DA. Any attorney would know this. Yes she could sue KPJ (if they don't stay together after this) but she's going after the NYPD and DA. KPJ should too. They could have just waited for the truth/statement from his GF. But instead they made up their own egregious story regarding what happened that night. Mostly every major news outlet reported inaccurate/misleading information. His reputation is ruined (whether he deserves this or not) based off false information. He might not get another contract in the NBA, unless it's years from now (whether he deserves this or not). One thing is certain; He definitely did something, or else she would have said he didn't do anything. I don't condone domestic violence, hitting a woman etc. In my 40 years living, I never have and never will. But you all need to understand that even when someone is murdered, detectives and DA's take time to make sure they have actual evidence before making an arrest. It could take days, weeks, or even months for them to gather the necessary evidence. They arrested him the next day and blasted KPJ publicly (knowing he's in the NBA) without any substantial evidence (video/audio recording, statement from victim, photos of injuries, medical records, etc). If she is coming out with a book down the line, or get paid to make a appearances on talk shows, etc then NYPD and the DA will be the topic of discussion and featured in a chapter or two. I hope they get millions from this to help stop this from happening again You're supposed to be innocent until PROVEN guilty in a court of law. Regardless of your race, gender, or background.
I said I hoped he had changed, and he did - he was not the same at 22 as he was at 19, and now it seems that NYPD and the DA lied.....before they got the facts. So, if his career is ruined because they lied - that is definitely something you can sue for. In the end he is gone, so the haters in here, and yes, some of you are haters - can walk around happy that the Rockets team is now weaker with it's best shooter traded for a broken down asset.... We will be ok in the end, but we will miss his shooting and secondary creativity a lot. DD
Sounds like they were incorrect regarding the broken vertebrae, however, they still saw this young lady the night that 911 was called. Regardless of her story, that still admissible evidence. Facts are a bit hazy right now, but the fact that two charges are still on the plate, doesn't necessarily mean they are lying. It doesn't help the fact that her sister was also defending her on IG the night of the incident. Did her sister just make up ****?
Her sister is inconsequential - she wasn't there - and I believe her sister was a DV abuser herself... Look, I am not saying nothing happened - but it may not have even risen to the DV level - we just don't know....but when authorities make up details it ruins the case makes everything inadmissible and they can't prosecute. IMHO - and yes just my op - this will be completely dropped....due to her not cooperating and the story that he was charged with being wrong. DD
?? According to reports: Cops arrived at 6:45 am They found a woman with a laceration above her eye. She was covered in blood. She made a criminal complaint that KPJ punched her multiple times and that he put his hand on her neck, with her being unable to breathe. Tell me DD, what do you consider DV? I get it that KPJ is your boy, but goodness gracious man, you don't have to twist the facts that we do know. I'm not sure what's her motivation about releasing her statement, nor do I care, if there were multiple witnesses that saw the woman bleeding and bruised, I'd believe it. This didn't happen in a private residence, but instead in a hotel where several people saw the result of KPJ's actions.
I don't know if she made that complaint according to her statement she did not.....the ONLY reports that can be trusted are hers and KPJs...the only 2 that were in that room. Let me give an example from something I personally saw happen - I was in college and I had a friend who looked a lot like Patrick Swayze, I mean very handsome dude, and he had a smoking hot girlfriend who was the jealous type. One night we were all at Abrattos in Austin and she kissed him on the cheek saying she had to go to the bathroom, her red lipstick made some lips on his cheek all of us were cutting up about her marking her territory and weren't telling him just snickering about it. She comes back and freaks out - yelling at him - who kissed you...who??? and then starts slapping at him hitting him just going at him, he was trying to hold her off and it wasn't totally working. Finally he just takes both hands and pushes her back with his hands on her shoulders - she trips on a chair hits her head on the table on the way down no broken skin just a bruise, gets up and storms off. Now, was that DV - a guy protecting himself from her? I dunno, all I know is that they have been married for nearly 30 years, after she woke up and realized that it was her lipstick after all, and apologized - they got back and moved on. Still, was that DV? Or does a guy have a right to protect himself? Now, I don't know what happened in that room, the only 2 that do are her and KPJ - and they are not going to support the police......and we know the police have a history of lying - particularly against black men......so I don't know whom or what to believe......and if a judge rules it dismissed or only a class 3 misdemeanor - he gets another chance somewhere. So you are speculating that he perhaps had to do what he had to do to protect himself? What about the criminal complaint? This is paperwork filed on record. I understand the history of cops lying in regards to people of color, however, what motivation did they have to lie about this where there were several witnesses besides the cops? Sure, no witnesses in the room, but if a woman comes out in her state do you think it's just due to a fall? Due to KPJ protecting himself? The man had no physical marks on him, although we didn't see him naked, but yeah man, that's quite some type of potential story you are entertaining based on your buddy's past experience.
That is rich after Jackson Gatlin and other media members coming up with more details about his behavior as a Houston Rocket. But keep on deluding yourself...... Incomplete information.....lolz of course you always know better, people that were there at the hotel they have much better information than you and I have. And now mixing BLM Police racial issues into this case is just the icing on the cake.
Houston traded him to OKC for them to waive him......and end all speculations but DD is someone who does not get it.
Honestly, There’s a ton of workplace behavior by KPJ (just punk ass behavior) that has nothing to do with the DV Case , that warranted getting him run out of town. He was a bad apple that had run its course in Houston. I’m just glad that he’s moved on and the new coach can reset the culture and not have this idiot to deal with.
The criminal complaint is in question because she didn't make a statement - according to her the people that wrote the complaint listened in on speculation at the hospital to fill it out, did you read what she said? What I think, doesn't matter - only matters what they can prove.....that is the discussion I am having here. I think they got into some tussle, but I don't know who started it, who hit, who pushed, who did what.....have no clue....and am not going to judge someone without knowing any real data. DD
Yeah, I will agree with you somewhat on that, but in the end, the ORG was in a position to fix that and chose not to, I don't know why that was a disservice to everyone on the team including him. Again, I am fine with him gone, and riding with what we have, we will need to jettison a few more players over the years too....prolly only keep 3 or 4 of the young guys we have in the end.... So him going is fine, but I hate hate HATE social media and the jump to conclusion society we live in....hell people blame Israel for a Hamas missile that fell in a parking lot in a hospital.....no one fact checks anything everyone has to be FIRST with a narrative....they literally arrested KPJ without getting a complaint filed from Kyrse.....they could have taken their time to get the facts....now the case is muddy and will be dropped because of that incompetence. You were the one who posted the video of her not able to walk.......how much more do you need..... The Rockets should have cut his ass when he left the arena and went off on Lucas.... This was long overdue.....should not even have to come to this!
