Ime is going to have the Rockets fired up for this one. I look for an intense game for at least a half. After that, both coaches will probably have to experiment with their borderline roster spots. Wemby will have to play like a center to dominate us with his height. We will give him problems on the perimeter. If he can dominate in the middle then he really could be the next coming barring injury. Should be a really interesting pre-season game.
I did not even mean Shaq like domination, I meant he will draw a lot of attention that Vassell, Sochan, Keldon and Zach Collins can feast upon the Rockets once more.
We'll have to keep an eye on the Minnesota situation. In order to hand over the franchise to ANT Man, they'll have to trade KAT. We gotta keep stock piling assets to make a run at him if he becomes available...I don't see Jalen Green as an Alpha or our franchise player, but he's a complimentary player that could give us good spacing for a guy like KAT on our team.
Ain't no way this will keep up game after game, maybe after the periodic stinkers that all teams/players have.
Given that Sengun has played very well in his last 2 years despite bad coaching, and this is his first year under a new coach and system, I think giving him one season before making a final judgement is pretty reasonable. He didn't get praised by Jokic, JJ Reddick, Paul George, and Anthony Edwards because he's an average scrub. I'm guessing your level of patience for him is zero, and that you'd like to see him traded after one or two bad pre-season games.
I think it was more a comment on how the herd generally turns on every player except Sengun and wants to see them traded after one or two bad games...
If the "herd" never turns on Sengun, it's because Sengun has been the most consistent Rocket on this team for the last two years on average. He's usually had more stretches of good games than bad. If the "herd" turns on other players, it's because they've had more stretches of bad games than good. Jabari was inconsistent. Green was inconsistent. KPJ was injured and inconsistent. I personally wouldn't trade any of them for at least another year because they're young and under a new coach.
See this is what gets you Sengun cult members in trouble, EXCUSES. Stop blaming his deficiencies on other ppl. You also wanna be overly critical of other players. Its the epitome of hypocritical
Getting in trouble? Lol, with you? Who are you that I should be scared? Stop being an emotional and ignorant baby. Silas was a bad coach who hindered everyone's development, not just Sengun's. Silas and Udoka? Night and day. Sengun played well last year, probably our BEST player, so I don't need to make excuses for him. Now if he was a BAD player like KPJ was last year, then me blaming his performance on Silas and Stone making him a PG when he had no floor general or playmaking skills would be making excuses. The only player I was overly critical of last year was KPJ and that's because he was consistently the worst player on our team besides Jabari, but at least Jabari had the excuse of being a rookie.
I don't think this is an attack on Sengun but just on overall size of our front court. Collins was able to post up and score on everyone with ease, Sengun, Jabari, Brooks, it didn't matter. It's not just Collins either, we were getting stuffed at the rim by a random Spurs bigs all night. there's a definite need for size against certain teams, that's why we tried very hard to sign Lopez. Luckily not every team has crazy length.
No, I saw your point completely. You were trying to imply as fact that a good portion, or the majority of Clutchfans, the "herd" as you say, are blind Sengun-lovers who always have his back and who in contrast give the other players the opposite treatment. And I gave you my reasoning why I think that's a gross misconception of why people, or the "herd", feel the way they do, at least from my own perspective. But you missed my point entirely. Never mind.
What herd are you talking about. with the exception of a few fanboys, Clutchfans call a spade a spade after every game. None of our high draft picks have really consistently performed to our expectations, it's frustrating to see long stretches of shet basketball from top 3 picks. There's a reason why Sengun and Tari Eason don't get the "herd" turned on them, it's because they are performing above their draft positions. Sengun especially have never "sucked" for long stretches of games despite not being given the same amount of opportunities as Jabari and Green.
This is revisionist history tbh. Everybody was inconsistent, including Sengun. In fact, the only thing Sengun did consistently is fail to put up any big numbers. Jalen scored over 20 points in over 50% of his games, Sengun scored over 20 pts in literally 15 games last season, that's it. Hardly the star you all treat him as. Sengun literally had a 0 point game last season, Jalen had none. Actually look at their numbers game by game from last year, to claim Sengun is a significantly more consistent player is nonsense unless you mean he's been more consistently mediocre.
Doesn't make sense. Homework question time, to humor you. So you want a player who's physically bigger than Sengun. Okay, fair. You'd want a player who's taller than Sengun but as good as him. Can you name players like that? That's part A. Then, you'd want the team who already has this mythical player to be willing to trade him to us for Sengun + assets. That's tougher, because why would they do that, as they already have the player that's "better" than Sengun. This is part B. From the players you thought of for part A, whittle that list down so that you have a list of players that fit part B.
