Ahh, so let me cut out all of the bullshit that is not responsive to my question.

I would certainly say it is not an open air prison if the "prisoners" are free to travel to other countries. If I sent someone to prison and they had the ability while serving their sentence to go to Qatar for the World Cup and hang out on a yacht in Turkey, I would quit my job, because it would be meaningless. The conditions in the Gaza strip suck, and it is largely a mess of their own making. Billions and billions of dollars have been given to Gaza, and it has been spent on tunnels and rockets instead of building a productive and peaceful society.

Okay, so you do admit that the conditions is Gaza suck, but it is the fault of the people that live there.

    Thanks.

No idea what happened or did not happen. .. .... but I do know that Jonathan Conricus is about as biased a person as you can find when it comes to issues such as these.

FWIW this person is extremely biased as well...... she is a founder of an organization that is based on pushing Israeli propaganda across the globe.

I trust Israel over the guys who massacred babies, raped women and kidnapped over 200 people and threatened to execute them on live TV, thank you very much.

    Hamas = ISIS

NYT 32 Min ago (an eternity in social media timeframe) The Gazan health authorities said the blast had been caused by an Israeli airstrike; the Israel Defense Forces said it was caused by a rocket fired by a Palestinian armed group that malfunctioned after launching. Neither assertion could be immediately verified.

Social Media infinite wisdom: me 100% correct.

It's always the same playbook. Hamas launches countless missiles from hospitals, kindergartens and schools. Israel tries to defend itself, while trying to minimize civilian casualties. People with bias: "Israel is evil". **** that.

Not only did hamas blow up the hospital, but they were storing ammunition at the hospital too. Worst humans ever

This is likely a fog of war situation. I do think it's very possible it could be a failed rocket launch as such things as happened. I also think it's possible that it is an IDF missile as such things have happened before. Hamas has located military resources in or near facilities like this and as stated Gaza is very dense.

Either way it still sounds like a lot of civilians died.

Further this view that people there should just leave. While certainly some have my understanding it is it still isn't easy but also a lot of people don't understand how hard it might be to leave family, leave the life you've known and what posessions you have. The movie Belfast did a great job showing how hard it was for many to move from Belfast during the Troubles.

Also why doesn't the same reasoning then apply to the people of Israel especially the one's living close to Gaza? I mean if you're living under the threat of rocket attacks and now terrorist raids why stay there? Israelis in general are wealthier, more educated and many already hold dual citizenship with the US or other countries. It would be far easier for them to emigrate than it would be for the average person in Gaza..

This is again one of those simplistic arguments that are unhelpful. Neither people are leaving enmasse.

The outrage over this is causing political and regional fallout (including for the PA). This is why maintaining a good reputation and trying to abide by international law is important. I hope Israel is right and that this was caused by the militant Islamic Jihad group.

Below is some of what I read earlier from the AP, NYT, and other reputation sources:

Hamas called Tuesday’s hospital blast “a horrific massacre,” saying it was caused by an Israeli strike.

The Israeli military blamed Islamic Jihad, a smaller, more radical Palestinian militant group that often cooperates with Hamas in their shared struggle against Israel. The military said Islamic Jihad militants had fired a barrage of rockets near the hospital at the time and that “intelligence from multiple sources” indicated it was “responsible for the failed rocket launch that hit the hospital.”

Daoud Shehab, a spokesman for Islamic Jihad, denied the Israeli military’s claim that an errant rocket fired by the militant group could have caused the deadly explosion at the Gaza City hospital. “There were no operations by the Al-Quds Brigades in the area at all,” Shehab said in a phone call, referring to the group’s armed wing.

Whether Israel caused this particular incident or not given the nature of Gaza it is impossible for Israel to avoid civilian casualties. A precision missile with a few hundred pound warhead could hit it's target exactly but if it collapses an apartment building in a dense neighborhood will likely kill a lot of people than just the intended target.
