Putin did not directly flatten an entire hospital. He hit field hospital and clinics which is bad but isn't as bad as this ****.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_strikes_on_hospitals_during_the_Russian_invasion_of_Ukraine During the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine Russia military forces have repeatedly attacked Ukrainian medical facilities and hospitals, with at least 703 attacks on Ukrainian healthcare facilities carried out by November 2022, with 144 such facilities completely destroyed by Russian strikes,[1] in what constitutes multiple instances of war crimes.[2]
Hospitals sometimes do get bombed in war - plus Gaza is one of the most densely populated places in the world. So - while it is terrible, and hundreds or people have died - I am not shocked. This is also not the first time that Israel has struck a hospital - they hit one about a week ago. At least that is if you believe Doctor's Without Borders is a credible source. FWIW the only cancer hospital in Palestine has also shut down because of a lack of power.
There is no such thing as proportionality in war. War is hell, civilians will die - and that sucks - the USA bombed Hiroshima and killed TONS of civilians after being sneak attacked at Pearl Harbor. Israel was sneak attacked. DD
No there aren't. At any time Israeli courts can change that and evict Palestinians. The fact that Israeli courts make the decisions shows Palestinians aren't in full control. The idea that they are is a sham and pure propaganda.
I'm not defending the IDF or condoning this but a hospital being bombed should've been absolutely expected. I've never been to Gaza but from what I've seen it of from the news it looks as tighty packed as Kowloon in Hong Kong. With hospitals, schools, next to factories and apartments on top of them. I couldn't imagine bombing Kowloon without killing a lot of civilians. This round of bombing the IDF appears to want to show even less restraint than what they showed before. This is also why I feel those hostages are as good as dead.
At this point what little I can do is hope that we don't have more people killed here in America. That we don't see more attacks against Muslims and Jews here.
Exactly. Gaza is a lot like parts of Hong Kong or some parts of Brazil. The buildings are often built leaning or attached to other buildings, and everything is very tight. Now - Israel told the Red Cross that all Palestinians that were civilians had to be out in less than 24 hours, and while that was realistically not possible, it did allow some to leave the area and there were some civilians that indeed did leave. The sick and old and some of the very poor and young did not leave and they are likely going to die. There is no way that Israel did not know this - but they could have just immediately attacked Palestine and they did not. I agree with you that those hostages are dead - the vast majority of those civilians that remain in the "hot zone" in Palestine are going to die - a lot of Hamas terrorists will die and some Israeli soldiers are going to die. My concern is that Hamas is well entrenched, for idealogical/social reasons they are not afraid or concerned about dying - and that is going to result in higher Israeli soldiers dying, which in turn will result in Israel being even less concerned about civilian deaths. That doesn't even get into how the USA, Iran - Egypt, Hezbollah and Saudi Arabia will respond in the next week or so.......... and long term all this is going to do is motivate the birth or more terrorists and even a more militant response from Israel over the next couple decades. The fault that lies with the UK and the US cannot be overstated. If the PRC were to blame the US and UK for planting and growing the seeds of this conflict - they would be right.
That was also almost 80 years ago at the end of a war where possibly as much as 50 million died around the World. You would think we would be better than that now but probably not.
24 hours to evacuate even just Gaza City was impossible and the IDF know that. It was just lip service to show "restraint". Hamas cares more about killing Israelis than they do about saving Palestinians. The IDF knows this too. Also my own guess is the IDF knows the hostages are as good as dead too otherwise they wouldn't be bombing like this. Hamas said they were going to put hostages in places like that hospital. My guess is Hamas wants the IDF to launch a ground action to try to rescue the hostages and to root out Hamas. They want street to street and inclose fighting like Stalingrad or Iwo Jima. They know they can't win and will kill a lot of them and Palestinians but it will kill a lot of IDF troops and going down like Spartans will rally more to their cause.
It would have to be a combination of a prison escape combined with fleeing a natural disaster. You would be dodging bombs and crumbling buildings. If you're a Palestinian male Hamas probably would try to force you to stay and fight. If you make it to the borders of Israel you might be shot by IDF because they fear you're a terrorist infiltrator. If you try to get on a boat or swim you might get sunk by the Israeli Navy. If you get to Egyptian border that is closed but you might be able to tunnel out.
