Not necessarily - Sengun had a bad game, it happens - he did great against New Orleans.....sometimes you just have a bad game. However, the Rockets lack someone at that position and while Boban is huge, he is a terrible NBA player. DD
Never fear.. Supposed athletic scrubs will be cut , threads will be made about them , and Stone will feast..
Sengun had a bad game offensively. One on one he didn’t get beat by Collins. He is adjusting to an absolutely new defensive system. Both Jabari and Sengun seemed a little lost on defense. They will adjust and be fine. Size is not the problem, confidence in what they are doing is. He will be fine. All this hand-wringing on a bad pre-season game is ridiculous, We are going to have lots of bumps along this road to contention. Way too much knee-jerking on this forum. With that said we do need a backup center. If Jock isn’t the guy we should try to find one.
As I said, the more the merrier. I can't wait for the next one, as surely people will find a reason to create more.
All this Sengun hate over a PRE-SEASON game that we WON. Lol, c'mon now. He definitely didn't play well and got owned by Collins, but lets play at least 10 games in the regular season before we crucify him. And lets not forget he was at the very least our 2nd best player last year, if not our best. And his defense this season is better despite being inexperienced in a new system.
In 21-22, Udoka coached Boston to the finals with no one in the rotation over 6'9". They lost to GS who had no one over 6'9" in the rotation. The two teams were #1 and 2 in defensive rating that season. There's so much more to basketball than just pure size.
Most definitely. People are saying he's playing better defense and its taking away from his offense. If Zack Collins destroy you, I just dont see where the improved defense is.
It's one game. We have to judge Sengun over the season, not overreact to one or two games, especially a game where we still won.
