She really seems to have been living in the world's largest "open air prison". One of those prisons with high end hotels, salons, retail outlets, and the ability to come and go to other countries.

What are you takes on the concept of civil liberties?

What what you call a situation for people who cannot freely travel and have another nation-state own the land they live in but aren't considered citizens of said country that owns their land?

If an entity owns the land you are in and doesn't consider you a current and you cannot travel outside that land, what are you? Do Gazan residents have Israeli civil rights like Israeli citizens?

Of course...it's just fascinating to me that when people who have made anti-immigrant remarks come onto a campus and the university takes a stance they get slammed hard by the right. Now they are getting slammed hard for not taking a stance? Didn't they just do what the right asked them to do???

I think we need the wizard of @Os Trigonum to join this specific debate/discussion.

Yes and No. The hostages are basically Hamas's only bargaining chip at this point. Israel doesn't seem to care about the humanitarian costs of their action at this point so that's really their only leverage now.

Israel also has a long history of negotiating for hostages (at any cost). I suspect there are back channels going on right now (via Egypt and Qatar) on the status of hostages. Now whether this amounts to anything is unclear. The price that Hamas wants might be too high but both sides have an interest in this. Its also important to note that a reasonable number of hostages are dual citizens so other countries (including the US) also have a vested interest in this. So I imagine there's a lot of pressure on Israel from Western countries to make a genuine effort to secure hostages.

Who is turning a blind eye to what cruel actions Israel may or not be committing? Nobody is walking around chanting kill all Palestinians. Yet, in every major city there have been protest with hundreds and thousands of Palestinians chanting kill the Jews, etc. Why are you turning a blind eye to that?

Civilians die in every war and you admitted that here.

As far as war crimes, you consistently act as if Israel is committing war crimes all day when you should probably read this:

    https://www.amnesty.org/en/location...palestine-state-of/report-palestine-state-of/

You wouldn't be labeled if you stopped labeling everyone else dumbasses for having an alternate view to your opinion.
Do u see me calling pro israel folks zionist? Reading comprehension skills is lacking.
Are we talking pre 1940s or after?

Speaking of reading comprehension skills lacking, you clearly aren't getting the point of my post. You come off as Palestine is right and Israel is wrong for wanting to eradicate Hamas. Hamas has been sending rockets into Israel and killing innocent Israeli civilians for decades. Hamas has been killing Palestinians in Gaza for decades (see link I posted above) Spinning Israel to be the bad guy because they want to eradicate Hamas is gross negligence.

That's a rather vague question. Generally speaking, I support having individual rights protected by law from unjust government interference.
Did you watch the video, the woman clearly travelled to Qatar for the world cup, to Turkey on vacation, etc. At least some residents of Gaza are free to travel. I would say that they would be better off moving somewhere else.
A stateless squatter that would be better off somewhere else.

I'll say it again, the leaders of Hamas are billionaires who hide in Qatar.

They aren't self governing. They don't govern their airspace, electrical grid, water supply etc.

Congrats man. You qaw a video of someone in Gaza travel to Qatar. You solved them problem.

You are the embodiment of privilege. Yes exactly. The people are stateless "squatters" to you.

Now of course you don't have the basic amount of self awareness to label yourself a squatters if you were born and raised in a neighborhood. You'd call that your home. And their home provides them with no basic rights from the country that adult owns the land. Hence Apartheid state.

No they aren't, and the areas carved out of the West Bank and most of Gaza set aside for Palestinians isn't sustainable.

    Great post.....

People who only see one side are not helping......

No one wants kids to die,.....NO ONE........

However, you can't blame a country for protecting itself when it is being constantly terrorized, and who is facing an enemy whose main goal is to wipe out Israel and all Israelis.......they have every right to fight back.

How can we even be talking about anything other than the 1300 killed by Hamas and the more than 200 hostages.....the first act has to be met....and Israel is meeting it....sure talk about a measured response as long as it is measured by targeting HAMAS.

And yes there will be collateral damage - try to minimize that but when HAMAS is using them as shields....that is on HAMAS.

What seems to be happening is people who follow Islam will blindly support the Palestinians - and ignore that Islamic countries won't even take them in..once again religion screwing over people.

look. Islam isn't the reason a Jewish Lawyer living in Brooklyn living a first world modern upper middle class lifestyle moves to the West Bank with his family and displaces the home of a Palestinian.

    Stop only blaming Islam.

In fact stop blaming religion. Religion is a tool for labs grab and resources. That's all.

The IDF whoopsies its way to killing 10x more civilians than Hamas the last 2 decades.

The IDF wasn't killing anyone - Gaza was self governed, HAMAS attacked on their own without provocation - and here we are.

People who follow ISLAM fake support Palestinians - they march, they wave flags, but they won't take them into their own countries....it is all for show.

I don't know the answer, but sitting back and letting HAMAS take and kill hostages is not it.

A combination with Israel having control over many of the resources and the ability to evict people. Palestinians have a limited autonomy.

Let's see how many of those fighters actually choose to fight - or to hide around as a civilian, this is why it is important for normal Palestinians to help the IDF - to root out HAMAS....

If Israel is smart they will have a program to do this....

I don't think your privileged Cheeto stained life is qualified to understand the kind of a Muslim.

Again the IDF has whoopsied its way into killing ten times more civilians than Hamas. It's a laughing talking point to suggest the IDF caress more about civilians than Hamas.
