Reality sank in last night that my dreams of watching playoff basketball this year were just that…..dreams. While the addition of Udoka is a HUGE difference maker, we are still plagued by lack of height. We made Zach Collins look like Hakeem last night and had many frustrating possessions where we were outsized and either couldn’t get a rebound or had to bust our arses to get one. Jock was out, but nobody is confusing the guy with being Dikembe Mutumbo. He averages 4 rebounds a game for his career. Jeff Green isn’t a legit center and Jabrari is a toothpick. Like it or not, small ball is back.

I think the Rockets are aware, they were going after Lopez this summer but couldn't close.

I think they need to continue to feature Sengun and hopefully another team will bite in trade but last night certainly didn't help.

From the start, Ive always said, he doesnt not match well against players who are bigger than him. I think he's a good BACKUP center, just not a starter

I always thoughtnif we could have got Wemby, it would have helped Alpi. His strengths could negate Alpi's weaknesses. However we didn't.

So my question would be what teams could we trade him to? I love his skills but Inthink we need to face it, hes just too small.

Basketball is such a weird sport with normal sized people and giants who made 1% of population.

lol, settle down. Collins didn't look like "Hakeem." He hit a couple 3s and had a couple nice cleanups. He's a good center. 18 points isn't crazy for him. He averaged around 18 towards the end of last season.

The motion in the ocean matters too.

Talent beats size (assuming no talent, look at Boban)
(btw, I define talent as having experience + skill)

But wait, there is also chemistry.

Chemistry beats both talent and size.

Problem with the Rockets is they have no
    A) No Size
    B) No talent (eg, experience + skill)
    C) No chemistry

They can develop B and C.

The lack of height is a concern for me as well. It means they have to fight twice as hard to measure up. That eventually leads to fatigue. The other thing we have to remember is there are like 7 new players and a new coaching staff this year. It's going to take a little time for them to figure each other out and know when to be in the right spot at the right time and contain those bigger guys.

Rockets still pulled out the win so . . Clutch City?

Lol it is basically just FVV, Brooks, Tate, Uncle Jeff, everyone else is fine.

Well, there is no depth at C and PF though.

Dude Sengun is 6’11, is great defensively and can shoot threes now

I don’t know why Collins who was measured at 6’10.25 barefoot looked taller last night, he must have grown 2 inches too, only explanation.

A thread about lack of size when our "franchise player" is Sengun, is a valid conversation. Isn't he our starting center?

It is good to have contrasting skills on the bench - and we need a shot blocking athletic big - we don't have that in our arsenal.

Wait, so Sengun didn't actually grow to 7ft over the summer? I wonder why they keep lying about growing?
