Amen and Cam do complement eachother extremely well and Amen is a future starter for us whether at the 3 or 1, but not quite there today.
The narrative-building on this board is getting ESPN-esque. We can just start the vets and if the young guys outplay them then replace them. Why are you making things up to argue about. It’s not even rational that we consider doing it now. They haven’t played games together yet. Maybe people are just really excited to find out what our talent is made of.
Lol actually, I wouldn't mind it at all to see Amen and Cam start, but in tonight's game. With both coaches pulling players from the game, why not experiment a liittle and let them dictate the tempo from the jump? But in the long run? Waaaayyy too early. Let's see how it's going when the games start counting first.
I think that “yeah, we’re winning but Ime plays the vets too much” will be a common hot take this season.
You mean start for a preseason game? I'm down with that. It's best not to piss of Rich Paul just yet by benching FVV at the beginning of the season. It's too soon. That contract didn't come without some guarantees. Cam isn't ready to start over Brooks. Dillon's defense is suffocating and contagious. I like him as a starter. Because of how the offense is set up with Sengun playing quarterback, I can actually see Cam eventually starting over Jalen Green. The offense is perfect for how Cam plays and he's a better defender than Jalen. Plus Green may be more effective and efficient playing a 6th man, Jamal Crawford type role. Not trying to jump the gun here though from what I've seen in preseason games. Time will tell.
If the OP does mean just in a preseason game, I'm not totally opposed - but I do think it should be Amen starting next to Brooks one game, and Cam starting next to FVV another - not both in the same game. I'm not trying to relive a whole team of players 21 and younger anytime soon. It'll be many years before I'm ready to withstand that again. I have trauma.
