It was first reported to be fair, the other article came out 1 hour later so it was not our fault. Limited folks were allowed in I would say.
The strangulation charge still stands, which carries a maximum of 7 years in prison. But since she never gave a statement to the police and the alleged strangulation happen in the hotel room where no witnesses were present, this will be impossible to prove. Charges will most likely be dropped and I believe the judge knows that, which is why he warned KPJ that in the future if things get heated it's best to just walk away. Prosecutors have no case. It's not what you know, it's what you can prove. They can't prove that he choked her without a statement or testimony from the victim. Edit: I smell something fishy from the police and DA in New York. How do they know a strangulation occured without a statement from the victim? If there were witnesses at the hotel who saw her when she supposedly ran out of the hotel, where are their statements? How do you make the mistake of thinking KPJ broke her neck? KPJ may have a civil case against them for falsely (and publicly) accusing him of breaking her neck. He lost a prominent role on his team and future salary due to these accusations. The damage is done even if charges are dropped.
Lol it is very easy to proof, she had marks on her neck.....the evidence is just not for the public to see. And a fool would have taken photos right after the assault which are again not for the public to see.
Again, she not having given the police a formal statement does not mean that she did not talk to the police when they arrived at the scene, or talk to the 911 operator, or talk to the people who saw her in the hallway. Also, strangulation leaves marks on the neck. It's not like the police saw her a few days after the fact. It's a 911 response. You are jumping to the conclusion that the prosecution has no case without knowing what kind of evidence they have. Let's wait and see how it develops.
This is typical, they will want anything to be all inclusive, not going to plead for a section of it, unless it is all wrapped up in the plea deal together. My guess is they are waiting on the strangulation to be dismissed, or go forward before making a deal (If HP's article is the correct update)..... I suspect this will all be pleaded down, especially considering that the judge said to "Walk away" after lessoning the restrictive order, looks like in the eyes of the court this is not going to be a huge deal. DD
I hope he can still be part of this team if he is not proved to be guilty. you cannot ruin a young man's life if he is not guilty. and I know it's a bad pr incident for rockets. I still hope the team can support their young core and we need all the fire power we have to fight for that playoffs spot
Come on, man, there are no huge deals or minor deals for a professional.... that is just your opinion. They would confirm something that was confirmed 1 month ago.......we already knew her neck was not broken one month ago. So basically nothing has changed, other than officially one charge was dropped because the prosecution side made a mistake. Other than the Rockets have one more reason to not waive him or to prolong the inevitable.
Did you not understand 164 pages of this thread ....he is already guilty, they are figuring out the details or the severity of it. Him attending this means he tries to soften the blow. This is basically between 7 years, 1 year or community service etc he has to do.
Oh no, I think that ship has sailed, he will need to go elsewhere, the Rox did him a disservice by not holding him accountable, but we have enough LIKE talent that he is not so unique as to put up with the crap. He has to still go. I follow a lot of court cases for fun, just interested in the working etc, all the language in this one seems to be trending towards a minor type of result if not dismissed all together. That is indeed my speculation - but it is trending that way, IMHO. DD
I have no doubt that he went ballistic and probably had done more had she not run around like a wild chicken......good thing people called 911 in time. This is precisely the profile of Kevin Porter the basketballer and human being.
the charge has not been proved true right? innocent not proven guilty. did you see any evidence or police report that you can share with everyone? where is all these annoying hatred come from?
Again, follow court cases........court cases that are somewhat relevant or severe they go through a court process...... Basically athletes are privileged and a lot go free although they had beaten women. This Innocent until proven guilty is just what they say in court to sound smart. And yes there are indeed people who go to jail for other guys' crimes but there was not a 3rd man who hit Kysre, was there? We are here to discuss two things.......to waive him or to send him to jail. Or both. If you want him on the team, feel free to start your own thread. If it annoys you, just talk something else.
again we haven't see any evidences from police report or victim kysre picture right after the incident. in bridges' case we see all the evidence right after the incident right? I'm not saying I want him on the team. I just want people to respect the truth and we still don't know all the facts. don't pretend you know and don't tell me what to discuss on this thread. why would we discuss to waive him or send him to jail?
I am not going to lay out what we all discussed for 1 months and 5 days and repeat it for every noob coming into the thread demanding justice for Porter. Sorry but not sorry. Either you do your homework or you don't . Every case is different, there is no need to compare Bridges to Porter... maybe vaguely.
That is fair if you do not acknowledge the evidence or the potential evidence ......but most of us here do. Because the Rockets front office already said Porter cannot come back this year....basically. They just would not rule out forever ....who knows what forever means.
it could be my fault cause I'm from China and I'm not that familiar of American laws. I have go through all the details of kpj incident and I think I know every little thing about it. you call me a noob. haha that's so funny. I have been follow this team since yao era and rockets are my home team. I'm not a noob for sure. please don't talk to people that way. thank you
