Hamas attacks Israel: Yom Kippur War, 50 years on

I brought this up in the other thread. It was nearly inevitable that the hatreds and fears ripping apart the Middle East would make it hear. We already see protests and counter protest in NYC and other cities both for and against Israel or Hamas. Our country is already dangerously divided and this is just going to add to it.

 

Sounds like tribalism to me. Time for AI to take over , skynet would be amazing.

 

The whole sacred land thing is crap. Also you are right, no Arab country wants the Palestinians cause that would be hypocritical plus they don’t want their maniac political groups.
There’s plenty of land in Egypt

the delusion is that the Palestinians will get ALL of Israel back. They won’t, but they tried.
They tried is what happened last week and every other year or decade.
Israel gave them land for peace. Fundamentally there will never be peace there.

It was a hard moment for many to openly question your country and leaders in a time of war. I remember being called "traitor" for speaking out against it. Who knew we would have so many hard moments since then..

 

So was my father, I can't tell you how many discussions I had with him that said 9-11 had ZERO to do with Iraq- took him years to come around.

didn't take me years...but i took the administration at their word when they went before the UN to present evidence that there were WMDs in Iraq. in retrospect, I shouldn't have.

 

I believe I was against the Iraq invasion.

 

Yeah, that was a kick in the balls and it killed Collin Powell's reputation, though I believe he was manipulated.

I hope and believe it's isolated. I don't think we will see a repeat anywhere close to what we saw soon after 9/11.

The thing is, pretty much 100% of us are in agreement: Hamas is a terrorist organization, plain and simple.

But our differences in how much or how much not to avoid civilian suffering and casualties are driving us nuts.

 

Unless Israel kill all Palestinians or deport them to some other place, they will have to come up with a solution for how to deal with them. Israel does not like the two state solution and they don't like the one state solution either, I would like to see Israel come up with a sollution.
