Terrible outcome Game 1. Beat by a LHP. Stros now must win 2 Eovaldi/Montgomery starts to win this series, plus most of their non-starts. Scherzer still lurks. He's not as good as 2019, but he's still intimidating. Tucker is slumping. Altuve is TOOTBLAN'ing. Diaz is not catching. Framber needs a huge game. Hopefully he's not already shot due to bad management. Let's thank Dusty later.
JV pitched well but the bats could not get going, great pitching by the Rangers, sometimes ya just gotta tip your cap and say well done. Bounce back today and all is well
What kills me is that everyone in the stadium and watching on TV knew how that bases loaded situation would play out. Maldy was a guaranteed out there. That's not the only reason the Astros lost the game(Yordan whiffed badly with 2 runners on earlier in the game and Altuve's baserunning was inexcusable), but knowing you're playing at a disadvantage offensively in every game can't be a good feeling. The offense has to get going though. This is now 3 out of 5 games in the postseason where they've stunk up the joint at the plate. And let's not forget they could barely score against the Diamondbacks in those first 2 games.
I just, simply, don't understand this. Not your post. Dusty. We really need to get rid of these veterans security blanket in Maldonado. If they love him so much, they can go to another team. Or they can learn to , like grown ****ing adults paid millions to play a game, to pitch to Diaz and grow the **** up.
It’s a new day and we’ve been down before - in quite the holes actually, need Framber to get out of his own way and the bats to come to life, simple as that.
That Pablo Lopez game against the Twins was one where you tip your cap and move on. He was that good. Montgomery was not on that level last night. Houston had some bad luck but also just did not meet the moment (Yordan and Tucker especially). Here’s hoping for a rebound but if the Astros lose this series last night will scar; they should have won that game.
