The DT from Notre Dame for $500? I'm guessing b/c the broadcaster said one of the DTs looked ready for Halloween lol.
Stroud should have had 3 TD's this game. Schultz catches that one that went through his hands in the endzone. Or if Woods sat his route down on that scramble... 24-10 and game feels pretty out of hand. Tank Dell is going to help a lot. They still need a guy who can destroy press coverage much like Andre and Nuk could. Nico, may have had a good game but lets not kid ourselves. He is a WR2 at best. Schultz going to surpass last years numbers by a LOT. Robert Woods going to have his best year in 4 years. Nico Collins is already having a career year. Stroud is making all of these players better. Get him a true 1 and this offense will be torching teams.
I'm loving the attitude on some of our players. Like notice when Woods scores the TD. He is thinking, Coleridge, I'm too old for this sh*t. But he does that dance with Stroud anyways. Then you have Dalton, who for the first 2 weeks was 'alligatoring ' every ball thrown his way and had bad body language. He was probably bummed out that 'better' teams didn't pay him and had to join what was considered a trash organization prior to March 2023. Now, he is fired up, giving speeches and trying tacos. All because of Stroud. I'm extremely worried that Pierce is not a fit for this offense. Luckily they'll have 2 more weeks to try and work on it.
Pierce has bad vision. Devin Singletary was so much better today. Super patient, letting the LB's choose gaps and he would react. Or take the hole with speed when it was there. The team has extremely good character guys. Not many ME ME ME types. It allows for them to see CJ for what he is, not that he is a rookie, but that is a great QB and follow his character/lead. Culture shift was gigantic. Texans organization finally resembles this video
They said we couldn't beat Pittsburgh's defense. They said we couldn't beat the Saints' defense. We showed them we aren't scared! We showed them our defense is legit!
Jeudy has done **** since 2020. He is always hurt. You can get a bona-fide DT in free agency. You don't trade your LT who is protecting your franchise QB.
Acquiring Higgins in FA is my agenda. But I thought the offense played well considering Saints hold opp qbs to a 65ish rating. Can't remember if it was Slowik or another coach that said Stroud's #1 receiver is the one that's open. Sounds like coach talk but for Stroud it holds true. Adjusted rating for Stroud in this game, 111 rtg. I used the passer rating calculator on Pro-reference. Took away 2 of the 4 throwaways which ends up 13/25 and gave him and Noah Brown the 60 yard TD instead of the 35 yard P.I 13/25, 259 yards, 3tds and 1 int.
Peirce - 13 carries for 34 yards Singletary - 12 carries for 58 yards I think Singletary will start getting majority of snaps
Singletary was signed after the Demeco hire so was probably selected specifically for this scheme. DP of course was not.
