He reportedly did a lot of yoga and boxing as part of his summer training. I'd think the yoga's especially adding a lot to his flexibilty.

With two or three more seasons of development, he could have the physical makeup to be truly dominant.

I'm not really trying to play down Jabari's potential. This is more in relation with Green. I just think Green has shown such more and by a wide margin that people who still think Jabari is going to somehow be the go to scorer over Green are really hung up about archetype.

And Jabari didn't force a lot of shots. People who have 23% of their fgs assisted aren't forcing shots. He took shots that were given to him. Green forces shots his rookie year a lot more but because Green is a lot more talented offensively he was a lot more efficient than Jabari in their respective rookie years.

idk if you saw but he was doing yoga all summer too. This really is especially impressive when you consider he's visibly added muscle.

His shot has been butter all summer too. What an absolute stud. Think if he continues this kind of development over the next 5 years too?

yeah guys, easy with the KD comps
Bosh-level would be tremendous. Toronto Bosh was a beast, then he sacrificed in Miami to get rings. Tremendous player.
    But, KD, c’mon guys…

You guys leave him alone. I would add though @DaDakota you were adamant about not drafting anyone this year and trading the picks for a vet. Now 2 preseason games and the two picks are the players with the most potential. Good grief man lol

He brought up working on yoga a lot this summer, seems to have given him some flexibility and agility.

This is a dangerous time. Dudes like Wood and KPJ are gone. We have so many young and promising guys. I'm holding my breath who DD is going to be obsessed with.

I agree with you. There was a video released right before the draft from one of the sports science facilities he has been working with for many years and they were focusing on a lot of the drills they use to improve his flexibility and specifically hip mobility that they measures with him. I can't seem to find it any more but I think the point is - he doesn't just work on things, he works on highly specific things so if that was a specific point of focus this summer, I can see how he would have considerably more improvement than the guy who just plays a lot more basketball. He seems like a very goal driven dude and when you pair those with the right people looking at his performance holistically from a scientific standpoint - you probably will see some incredible moments like this....makes me excited to think it isn't just marketing - he is really is that dude putting in work.

Not as much as KPJ. But I remember him thinking Wood could be a valuable piece with better teammates.

.....yeah, Yoga really helps complement more traditional targeted muscle building - defintely combats the "stiffness" by creating pathways for functional mobility. I remember doing that back in my playing days and the improved core control had a noticeable impact on me regaining balance quickly from sudden moments which is of obvious benefit for any shooter.

I too am VERY excited about Jabari's future growth - was thrilled we got him last year, never moved off Jabari Island during the poor shooting nights, and it feels like this is going to be a nice island to live on as the Rockets turn this around. Hats off to the guy for noticeably putting in the work to be better.

More like LaMarcus Aldridge, Kevin Garnett...His footwork looks like a young KG hitting turn around jumpers

Yeah the Bosh comparison doesn't work that well for me. I think Jabari is going to be more perimeter-oriented than Bosh was. Bosh spent about half of his time living inside 10 feet.

Whether Jabari ends up as more of a PF/C like KG or LMA or as more of a combo forward like Tatum or KD (these would all be very high-end, unlikely ceilings for him to reach) will depend on how much he fills out and what his body type ultimately ends up being.

Fleibilty and strength are the 2 biggest things most rookies are missing when they enter the NBA. Kudos to Bari for working on these things. He's obviously got the basketball skills.
