“post hoc, ergo propter hoc,” a Latin phrase meaning “after this, therefore because of this.” The phrase expresses the logical fallacy of assuming that one thing caused another merely because the first thing preceded the other. Try some logic, Sam, it can strengthen arguments.
Some links to prove your assertion that and not military infrasture in Ukraine. So why did Putin not attack say 10 years ago?
Thanks, but It's not "arguments" that Finland, after decades of refusing the possibility, and eventually Sweden, and at some point,Ukraine joined or are joining NATO because of Russia's invasion of Ukraine - it's a fact. But wait, let me guess, you have some alternative conspriacy theory facts dredged up from the guts of the RFK galaxy brain Putin horse shoe theory of bullshit. Spare us, they are trash.
You don't even pay attention other than your bernie propoganda. https://www.reuters.com/world/russi...-western-response-not-encouraging-2021-12-17/ I recommend you to read this book. It's the inside of the Biden WH and how much they tried to deter russia. They literally gave Putin everything he wanted. Zelensky came to the WH and tried lecturing biden about NATO and biden told Zelensky he's been dealing with NATO longer than zelensky has been married lol. If ukraine was the red line biden wouldve thrown out of NATO. The issue was Putin wanted USA to remove all military equipment from Romania/lativa estonia and eastern europe
He didn't attack 10 years ago for a variety of reasons, but here are a few big ones: -He didn't have the political pressure from the hard right in Russia that he has now, and the fear of a coup from the right if he didn't act. -Ukraine was not a legit Democracy at that time, and leaders were bought and paid for by Russia (See Paul Manafort's involvement, etc.) -The Africa influence push wasn't what it is today. Control of grain supply to Africa = huge point of leverage for Russia -Crimea hadn't yet been settled and built up to be Russia's sort of safe haven, and political point of reference (see parts of Ukraine see themselves as Russia, etc.) Putin had to act now, or it would be too late on a few different areas. Of course he didn't have to just buy, cheat, steal, and kill his way into Russian growth & expansion... he could have just like invested into internal Russian ingenuity, and economic development from within, but that's not the Putin way I guess. The Putin regime at it's heart is a mob like terrorist organization, and not a legitimate government. But sure... lets just forget about that fact, and look the other way because Noam Chomsky and others on the left have a nostalgia for the golden years of Soviet greatness.
Save it man. I used to think @glynch was kind of a 70's romantic yet unrealistic leftist type, which manifests as anti-establishment style contrarianism. i.e., something like "Pentagon wants this? Well **** those guys cause of Vietnam, it must be bad!" heuristic. But looking at his old posts, he (along with most of the Republican party, but that's another discussion) has been a weirdly consistent pro-Putinist for the last 10 years. It's a common theme of the infinite left, like RFK the antivaxer or Trumpy libs like Glenn Greenwald, to bend back the horseshoe to the right. i can't figure out if it's directed in some way, or if its just where they end up because of the $$$.
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...-election-2023-results-national-party-labour- Another right wing government comes into power bcz of this war but this time in New Zealand.. In the span of a month we've seen 3 different ultra right wing governments come into power. Poland is about to even more ultra right wing in their election tomorrow. At some point the pro ukraine crowd has to understand that this war is literally destroying democracy and freedom more than if Russia keeps the donbass. Anyone who's cheerleadering this has zero issues with Trump winning in 2024 and right wingers coming into power everywhere. Zelensky doesn't give a **** about anyone else. Folks here would rather have a stalemate for years while right wing zealots rush into power everywhere rather than call for peace. Folks around the world are not going pay premium gas prices forver in the name of the donbass. Zelensky is so delusional its not even funny. Insanity
I'm quite curious to see how the conservative hypocrites in congress will respond now to suspending military and financial aid to Ukraine. Will look quite hypocritical to be wanting to help Israel, a country with superior military, defense and economy wail upon Palestines while refusing to help Ukraine fend off Russia Kudos for the ones that remain firm in their isolationist stance but I doubt there will be many if any at all.
What exactly is the end game in Ukraine? Can you elaborate for me? You're perfectly okay with the rest of the world electing fascists in the name of Ukraine. Sweet
Putin did take Crimea in 2014 and before they was already supporting Russian separatists in the Donbas.
You're perfectly fine with every other country in the world electing a fascists because of Ukraines "survival" lol. Ukriane is fighting for land in the donbass. Ukraine isn't going to capitulate and lose all their land. You're just spewing propoganda. I'm not @glynch I know what I'm talking about
You're perfectly fine with every other country in the world electing a fascists because of Ukraines "survival" lol. What? Where did I say that? Russia invaded Ukraine, right? Until russia stops, accusing Ukraine end goal of reclaiming the land in donbass is speculation. U could b right or wrong. All I know is when a country is being invaded, fending them off and survival is a goal.
Maybe but we need Hungary and Turkeys permission for that and I'm not sure they'd be willing. People in this thread are just utterly delusional and selfish. They expect the entire world to sit back and pay premium energy prices forever in the name of donbass. Right wing fascists are rushing into power and everybody seems more concerned with zelensky then the global world order. It's insane how delusional some of the ukraine supporters have become
This whole "Russia can choose to leave at anytime" is cute line but based in delusion. No country since the beginning has just left a war zone with some sort of settled agreement. Russia isn't going to stop until zelensky agrees to a ceasefire which he has no intention to cuz he wants to keep the $$ flowing.
