I'm on the left, but I recognize that Hamas is an evil terrorist organization. Hamas just carried out the greatest slaughter of Jews (and plenty of non-Jews) since the Holocaust. It has been confirmed that Hamas beheaded infants. Any liberal who refuses to condemn Hamas is a fraud.
All Hamas leadership needs to be eliminated. Anyone who wants to help the Palestinian people must support removing and replacing Hamas as well as the Palestinian Authority.
What does that have to do with the accuracy of the title? Israel declared war on Hamas did it not? A surprise terrorist attack by hamas is horrible but they never declare war b4 attacking because it's stupid to announce yourself b4 a surprise attack. To answer @B-Bob's question on why. Here's your answer. They want to start a holy war. Hamas will get the ball rolling. Israel will retaliate. Muslims will retaliate against Israel, Jews and Christians to wipe us out and convert the world to Islam. Now...IMO while this is their plan and yes one day there will be a holy war, I don't see today as that day. I do see more hostility toward Israel coming during and after this. I do think Israel will carve up Gaza even more and completely decimate the northern side. I mean it is war and Hamas is so embedded into Gaza you can't tell a civilians from a Hamas militant. However, I don't think it's going to enrage the majority Muslins so much that they will all take action.. Get mad? Yes. But go on a killing spree? No. I think extremist t Muslims will regroup and try again - and one day be successful in .getting the holy war they want - but even the, it won't have the outcome they are looking for..
Hmm I wonder y the Israel government needs to be pushing out fake news or propaganda so our Western media can spread it around and then apologize about it afterward. Acting like an apology is gonna change anything after it has already been spread to the world. Feels like the news media is just throwing sht to the wall to get Western folks riled up to justify and support with whatever Israel is doing no matter how depraved or cruel. CNN when reporting stuff like this couldn't even bother to verify it. No wonder the right complains about fake news all the time, u have incidences like this.
Well, Hamas would love to turn this into a much larger conflict and draw in Arab states to their side. Good luck to them. Egypt, their neighbor, wouldn't even blink at opening the border to allow Palestinian refugees out of the region. It's very doubtful that the "Muslim" world in the Middle East would align with their side. What they will do is stand with the Palestinian civilians, but only until it costs them something. It's a soft border they don't want to cross, and one that Israel is going to test with their aggressive attack on Hamas. The world has become much more secular over the past 100 years. Fatah, the other major ruling party in this conflict, is secular. The dream of a holy war by some is unlikely to be fulfilled, unless we go way back to the great medieval times when religious zealots dominated the world on all sides.
Gaza is a hell hole now with hardly anyone with access to the outside world. Go to reddit and you'll see an army of Israeli citizens explaining their situation now which is expected abd I really want their insight on their perspective on the ground in Israel. But you don't get that with Gaza residents. You don't see reddit posters claiming they are from Gaza and expressing what they are experiencing. Because they don't have that same access to the outside world as Isaeli citizens. I say this because its obvious because of this dynamic you have far more push of Israeli fibs and exaggerated claims spreading online like headless babies but you don't have that for the other side because they don't have the means to do the same type of disinformation. Its another way where the officially recognized state with a modern advanced economy and military has the significant edge. The ability to spread propaganda and misinformation is so much more powerful for the Israeli side. Now everytime anyone mentions the death of Palestians civilians you just get reactionary knee jerk comments like "but Headless babies!". It's so pathetic. It's so sad.
