A couple things....... don't confuse Hamas with all the Palestinians living in the occupied area. There is a difference. Second, on a wide scale Israel will give a warning - in this case, Israel gave 1,000,0000 24 hours-notice to get out - that really isn't practical or possible. Also - when you hear the former Prime Minister of Israel on television screaming and upset that people are concerned about Palestinian civilian casualties from the Israeli offensive into the Occupied Region - well it becomes clear that the dehumanization is on both sides.
This is well written. Certainly, Hamas is to be blame for triggering the events that are about to happen but, in middle of it all, there are still some innocents. I have no solutions because the situation is so complex but it still bothers me that there is a lack of humanity towards the people who are caught in the middle. They can try to flee to other places but let's face it, people will always see them as "evil." Just look at the refugees that are coming here in the US, people see them as a problem. There will be a genocide of a people and we won't even bat an eye.
So you are saying your solution is for the US to fund a conventional military with all its benefits like actual built up military bases with proper air defenses for the Palestians. That would solve your "human shield" problem.
I understand you as a Hamas supporter would feel that way. However, when you have a family, you can empathize, and when a entity targets that family including babies innocent- personally cut their heads off torture rape- it's not bloodless to want this wiped out - I'm thinking about how many lives can be saved if Hamas did not exist Yes, I am going to be happy when Hamas is wiped out because that means we are going to have more lives saved more Palestinian lives, including
I keep reading about there being Hamas supporters on this message board, but I have yet to read a single post claiming support for Hamas. I am being sincere - if I am missing something, let me know. Also - being critical of the apartheid in Israel and the practices of Israel does not mean someone supports Hamas. Likewise, someone saying they believe that the Palestinians have gotten a raw deal does not mean that someone supports Hamas.
If I were Israel, I might think of doing something like... 1. Announce that you are seizing land illegally settled on by Israeli settlers. And then remove the settlers, but conditionally hold onto the land. 2. Lock in equal water rights for Palestinians. 3. Allow Palestinian businesses to compete economically with Israeli businesses. 4. Announce financial rewards and land seized from the settlers in return for handing over Hamas terrorists particularly those that have connection to and are responsible for the most recent terrorist acts. The terrorists themselves are able to turn themselves in and have their families receive the financial and land grant rewards. 5. Announce that those that take over governing of the land will be supported in the form of helping organize schools, services, and offer a tutorial in cooperation with other outside nations that are approved by both Palestinians and Israeli representatives. This would require Israel to compensate the settlers whose land they are seizing, and a huge expenditure from the government. Do not make it a land for peace deal, because then those that want violence from other side can easily trigger violence from the other. But do add incentives for peace which might include additional water rights, financial grants, etc. There would need to be international aid and support for this. Palestinians taking over would need crash course tutorials and how to run and govern and work diplomatically with others. The land given to them would have to be sustainable. It would have to be understood from all parties that there will still be groups that don't want peace and will act out. Perfect should not be the enemy of good. But it removes the power from those splinter groups so that they don't get to dictate the process. Hopefully continued adjustments and improvements can be made. It would be a start. Hopefully it would show good faith going forward from Israel, address some of the injustices they have committed, reduce support for Hamas, and be a bridge going forward. It would hopefully reduce support for terrorism and offer a beacon and way out from some of the misery and oppression that has gone on for too long. It would potentially lead to reduced terrorist acts and greater security for Israel going forward. It will not grant all of the land that either side wants and would be a compromise from both sides. It allows Palestinians to help police their own and would reduce Palestinian civilian casualties.
if Hamas existed would Israel still target babies? Think about this... because I don't think they are targeting babies. I think Hamas is really good at using babies as shields
See when people read this comment they are reading "let's get rid of Hamas!" They are reading "let Israel indiscriminately bomb Gaza city to punish Palestians for Hamas"
See when people read this comment they are reading "let's get rid of Hamas!" They are reading "let Israel indisc bomb Gaza city to punish Palestians for Hamas" So I guess Israel accidently stumbled into killing more babies than Hamas. Good for them.
Nope - Israel is doing everything they can to get innocent civilians out of the way- Hamas on the other hand wants to use Palestinian deaths as kind of a shield
