    Udoka was the dream hire for the Rockets; nobody was expecting Ime to sign in Houston because he already had so many other suitors. He picked us not out of a need -- he wanted to coach this team, with this talent.

    when nash was fired, Brooklyn wanted to hire him but he was too fresh in controversy. Ime doesn't need to showcase his talent. Everyone already saw what he did for tatum and the Celtics.

    Detroit def would have offered Ime Monty's contract

    Lol. No. He saw a opportunity to go to a roster with young talent & cap space. Stone did a great job in keeping us flexible financially & accumulating young talent. If the Rockets didn't have this no coach is coming here

    Our defense was legit. I mistyped. I mean to say Houston turned the ball over a lot and it was a lot of unforced turnovers

    Well, he wasn't mine, I had him after Nurse but I am no professional.

    I get that too, I am just too old for that dreamy type of scenario, oh he is the dream coach....

    Not able to go all out on black and white takes.

    He serves the purpose, y'all can go all groupie on him.

    Plays that make Zion have to move around on defense will always be a great idea against the Pelicans.

    When I first watched that I missed the actions being run and just thought Zion somehow zoned out and lost Jabari. In reality, he was just way, way too slow to recover and get back to Jabari.

    Things looked pretty good, but I won't get too excited cause the Pelicans clearly weren't trying/engaged. Def some reason for optimism though.

    I have to keep reminding myself its only pre-season.
    Veteran teams are not going all out to win.

    Still, this Rockets team is exciting to watch and its hard not to start raising expectations.

    if you're team doesn't try that's a bad thing.

    i think the pelicans came really unprepared and it looks like our coaching staff is taking pre-season very seriously. props to them.

    Exactly, the Pelicans looked like a veteran team easing into the regular season - to put it politely - the Rockets looked like a young team trying to send a message.

    Good enough, but I'm old enough to remember 2022 preseason.

    I don’t like to over-analyze plays wrt pointing fingers. Like in football, some plays always work, until the defense adjusts.

    in this case, as long as Jabari sets a good screen (instead of Christian Wood :)) and the defense doesn’t switch, Green is open, or Jabari is.

    Like football plays, the Defense must adjust their scheme to stop that
