Oh please don't be trying to spin it that Israel is trying to save civilian lives when they are actively bombing the hell out of Gaza indiscriminately and withholding food, water, and electricity for the people in Gaza. That's not acts of "trying to save civilian life" We all agree that what Hamas done is bad, but somehow Israel gets a free pass or is spins in a positive light that their war crimes is somehow justified. Both side are evil in my eyes. Hamas for their terrorist acts, and Israel for their war crimes. Of course when Israel wins, they will b praised as the good guys but we all know that Israel aren't saints with how they are handling this.
Address the point, please: How do you expect Israel to eliminate the threat of Hamas, when Hamas is using Gaza as its base, and controlling Gaza?
I disagree with Israel releasing dead baby photos. I could understand it if they released them to prove "babies were decapitated". But, this doesn't do that. Should Palestinians release dead baby photos from those killed in airstrikes? You can't sympathize with one side without sympathizing for the other when it comes to dead babies. Else, you have an internal bias going on. Yes, Hamas are cold-blooded killers and anyone who kills a baby up close like that deserves a place in Hell and is without religiion regardless of what they claim. But, a dead baby is a dead baby on both sides of this conflict.
Ground assault? Save the hostages? Try to minimize civilian deaths'? Just bc there is a threat of Hamas using Gaza as its base, and controlling Gaza, you are all a sudden given a free pass to commit war crimes? What's next gas/nuke the area? Innocent Palestines do not deserve to die, similar to how innocent people of Israel do not deserve to die. Full stop.
The difference is, one side is TARGETING babies and other civilians - that side is Hamas. The other side, Israel, is trying to defend itself against a terrorist government that is hiding behind civilians, and is trying to AVOID hitting civilians, but it is not always possible because the terrorists use them as human shields. It's not the same. Very far from being the same.
Dead babies on both side, yet many folks including u only have empathy/sympathy for one side b/c of the internal bias that's what he's pointing out.
Yet, Israel has formed an emergency government for the war, with Netanyahu leading the 'war cabinet.' Palestinians are going to pay a very heavy price in the coming months to years.
I just find it astounding how Israel with all its money and military might coupled with their distrust of palestines and hamas allowed this attack to even occurred. Very conspiracy like. Makes u wonder if all the money that the us funnel into Israel is actually being used properly. Stories of paragliders being used in the terrorist attacks just astounding.
A complete ethnic cleansing would solve the issue, but, of course, that's not a viable option. In the short term, they should take necessary steps to restore security. In the long term, they should consider a two-state solution or a single state with full rights granted to Palestinians. Long term, they must work to politically defeat Hamas and prevent them from gaining government control, which shouldn't be difficult if Palestinians are granted full rights. (Their huge mistake was supporting Hamas over the PLO). The current situation is characterized by endless fighting and terrorism. While Israel might eliminate 90% of Hamas over the next few months, they must exercise caution to avoid causing enormous harm to Palestinians, as that is going to sow the seeds for the emergence of the next wave of Hamas-like organizations
In 2005 Hamas won the election over Fatah, (Israel's preferred party after Arafat was replaced by Abbas). At that point so much for democracy on the part of Israel and their staunch patron right or wrong the USA. This might have been an opening to deradicalize Hamas, but as other have said Israel preferred to have an extreme Hamas (which they had helped in its beginnings). as it could then claim it has no partner for peace and use it to divide Gaza and Hamas from their easily controlled Fatah.
I'm just saying that it just sounds so unlikely that Israel with its military might, money Invested into them and hostility towards palestine and hamas got caught with their pants down. Idk if it's confirmed apparently Egypt warned them about it but Israel didn't take it seriously
I agree. Israel has been under scrutiny for all things happening in Gaza for the last couple decades. Its been largely quiet after doing what everyone has wanting them to do; Leave them alone. Now Israel has free reign to do whatever they want, which is what they have been wanting for years. Jews around the world are very scared of what happened in the 30's and 40's. They have not forgotten.
Uhh... we make Israel look like amateurs when it comes to intelligence and military spending. Yet 9/11 still happened here when we had received intelligence about a possible attack..... Complacency kills.
The complacency was that the Israelis were used to only small attacks thinking nothing big was coming. Some rockets the iron dome will take care of or a couple bad guys here and there. Maybe a suicide bomber. Not this kind of attack. That's why they weren't able to limit the massive damage brought by this attack because they weren't ready for it like you seem to think they should have been. They probably receive intelligence on a regular basis of pending attacks. They were complacent and probably shrugged it off as another minor attack coming. Cofer Black was screaming at the White House about a pending attack before 9/11. He demanded a meeting with Condi Rice telling her an attack from Al Qaeda was IMMINENT. They did nothing. Just like Clinton did nothing in 98 when the CIA Counterterroist Center told him Al Qaeda is planning attacks that might include hijacking aircraft.
