Drew Brees suffered a bruised rotator cuff contusion and only missed 1 game afterwards. Derek Carr has been playing through an AC strain on his shoulder the past two games. Then again, these guys played through pain their whole careers, and learned to manage it. Brees only missed 11 starts in 25 years and Carr has only missed 2 games in 10 seasons.
I don’t think anyone thought Watson was a “pos” prior to the whole off the field stuff. He seem like the ultimate teammate and was respected by his teammates. Hell he even took a bus to Jacksonville to play with one lung and won the game. He might have changed afterwards but when he got here he never showed signs of being a bad dude.
Deshaun is now accustomed to getting a paycheck for sitting out like he did in Houston. He realizes he will get paid regardless. All 230 million is a guarantee.
Wouldn’t get ahead of ourselves. The bottom of the league is unbelievably putrid with the Browns playing a few of them. And much like the Panthers, they will have no reason to shut things down if things don’t go their way.
I'm not here to defend Deshaun Watson - and I'm not a doctor - but my wife was knocked to the ground (rather violently) way back in July and the final diagnosis (after extensive medical exam) was a deep knee contusion. Nearly four months later, her knee still isn't right. Now, she's not a 20-something world class athlete - but while a contusion (or bruise) doesn't sound bad - man, she would tell you otherwise.
You're right on that. There's a serious chance the Patriots getting Caleb Williams or Drake Maye. They are that bad. Fck I would hate it if that happens...
Pats have the easier schedule rest of the way through and as terrible as they are, don't see Belichick throwing in the towel. If you are the Cards, Bears, Giants or Broncos, you might as well start tanking now if you haven't already.
There's also a chance the Panthers decide to do the same and trade Bryce if they don't like his progression by the end of the year. That would be crazy, but it isn't unrealistic.
I feel Belichick is smart enough to know if he gets the #1 or #2 pick he'll guarantee himself a much better QB in the future, and he honestly seems like the type who will do what's needed to get what he wants.
For sure. However I don't think Belichick is the coach next year if they are in the running for the #1 or #2 pick. Think it'd be a "mutual" decision between him and Kraft.
Bill Belichick is 71 years-old and his time is short. He isn't worried about drafting a franchise QB for the next 10 years. He's concerned about catching George Halas and Don Shula on the all-time win list. He's also a goner if the Pats totally collapse. Anyone can see he's lost his fastball.
