"So, really, there's no aid to provide, unfortunately." Sosebee said the Palestine Children's Relief Fund is supposed to be treating 12 kids with cancer in their pediatric oncology department in Gaza City. However, their staff aren't able to as they focus on staying alive amid the airstrikes, he said. People under 18 make up nearly half of Gaza's population, which means about 1 million children are facing threats of injury or death, Insider previously reported. As of October 11, Israeli airstrikes have killed at least 260 children, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported. ADVERTISEMENT Sosebee said the conflict between Israel and Hamas will have severe impacts on the mental health of children and civilians caught in the crossfire. I can see why none of the arab nations around wants innocent palestine civilians suffering under the atrocities of Israel retaliation. Similar to the conservative folks around here that keeps btching about the immigrant problem and border crisis, these conservative countries do not want immigrants coming over and "stealing their jobs" or perform criminal actions. Also any country willing to open their borders to the palestines will just tempt Israel to keep attacking palestines under the guise of "clearing Hamas". You open your borders now, any future Israel attacks/retaliation (it will happen again) and the international world will apply pressure for you to open your border once more. If the Israeli government was serious about a two state solution, it would have dissolved the extra-territorial settlements outside of the 1967 borders and transferred all claims of ownership back to the Palestinians. If the Palestinian authority and Hamas was serious about a two state solution, it would have ostracized Hamas and other organizations who commit terrorism Israel. Beyond their rhetoric, it’s evident that neither group really wants the other to succeed. Both have powerful elements in their societies that will not settle with anything other than a one state solution with expulsion of the other group. Hamas is a terrorist organization. Israel prefers a powerful Hamas over a powerful secular Palestinian group because it’s easier to demonize the whole Palestinian block. Hamas will not accept any Jewish state. Hamas is funded heavily by Iran because it’s a proxy to antagonize Israel. Israel can only use asymmetric warfare on Iran. Iran can only use asymmetric warfare on Israel. If Iran were to weaken or if the people figured out how to overthrow the government, an Arab power would just step up and fill the vacuum. As long as Israel exists as a Jewish homeland, the surrounding Muslim nations populations (and not talking about the various leaders who will make peace) will take this as a splinter on both their ethnic and religious pride. Arab Muslims look to their military and political glory achieved during the caliphates and think we were more religious so that must be the missing piece to our stalled way of life. But no amount of piety is going to provide the Arabs with arable land, iron, coal, and potable water. This is the last I really have to say about the conflict. I am hurting seeing imagery of and reading stories about the dead Israelis and dead Palestinians. I understand why they hate each other and I understand why they kill each other. But I hate it.
