Alvarez had a worse slump in August than Chas finished the year. It never crossed my mind that Alvarez should be rested for performance to get his head on straight. Alvarez has been great.

Bregman has had many similar slumps this season. It never crossed my mind that Bregman should be rested for performance to get his head on straight. Bregman has been great.

Players have slumps. Unless there is some physical reason behind the slump, there is no reason to treat Chas like he is anything, but an everyday starter that is likely one of the 7 best hitters on the team (and has been for the season) as well as one of the best 2 defensive OFs. If Dubon is played, it can be at LF and have Alvarez DH.

...and yet Chas is still in the Top 9 bats in September and clearly in the top 9 players. Guys have slumps. If Dubon was treated like Chas, he would never have been given PAs in August and September. Unless there is something physically wrong with Chas, one should look at a much bigger sample than one month or even 2 and Chas should play everyday. If one is going to go by a month or 2 sample (i.e., Dubon is one of the best 9 players), Chas still should not be the man out.

Nobody behind Alvarez is going to out produce him. Nobody behind Bregman is worthy of 3b.

If dubon is playing as well as he has been, he's definitely earned himself some spot starts. especially if chas isn't playing as well

So Kiriloff is blind. See Mancini for how to do it correctly.

Whoever it is, Maldy would be the catcher

I'm sure Verlander would pitch a game 5. This is just Dusty's gamesmanship of not letting the Twins know until he has to since he could go Verlander or Valdez on regular rest.

Am I not reading into it correctly?

that tweet doesn't mean JV is being used tonight haha.

    Which he 100% isn't

JV will start game 1 of the ALCS Sunday if the stros win tonight.

Dusty has a choice if necessary for the game 5 starter friday JV or Valdez both on full rest. He doesn't have to name a starter at this point in time

Franchise leader in World Series wins... which is remarkable since he didn't get one last year...

Chas has played everyday for weeks up until yesterdays off day. he's the odd man out in spot starts because the person behind him is playing well. that's a positive not a negative for the stros

he's back in the lineup today in a potential series ending game. 3/4 starts. yeah I can live with that with dubon absolutely holding his own yesterday

Per Baldelli, it's the same shoulder injury he dealt with all summer.

Maldy is the chosen one, but he held his weight last game so no problem.

I asked my boy what he thought about the Philly/Atlanta series

He said "I like winning in Philly. We made them burn one of their buildings down"

LMAO I forgot all about that
