First game was good you cant glean too much in either direction, but they played as a team and moved the ball well. Play designs were there and run effectively at times. The Jabari baseline turnaround is going to win big games for us in the future. Plenty of easy baskets on cuts should be available this season. FVV & Sengun did great jobs at directing the traffic plus Senguns defense was as good as you could ask for. Cam Whitmore +21! Jalens shot was off, but his ability to break a defense on full display. His defense was sus Jalen still has some bad habits on that side. Amen had a bad shooting night, but he flashed in other departments. His rebounding ability appears to be top percentile for a PG. His defense also looks instinctive. Tari did a little bit of everything that contributes to winning basketball. Good stuff looked better than I anticipated.

I see now you’re adjusting from talking about Green and estrogen. To connecting him to KPJ now.

I just remember last year the Rockets shredded the Pacers in preseason -absolute destruction made the Pacers look like VictorTanks. The Rockets were faster and more athletic and going to surprise teams with that all year.

    Then the season started.

I don't want to say the predictive value of preseason is nothing but - it's very close for known quantities

Jalen also did historically well against the Pacers, in his rookie year he came back from the groin injury and repaired his shot and alas the opponent were the Pacers.

This time Cam and the 3rd stringers put them away in the end.

did you see the write-up? KPJ and Green had the premium lockers. The Rockets management connected them as the "backcourt of the future" and gave them the keys to the franchise. Dumb.
One turned out to be an irredeemable psychopath, the other is a vagina.

Can see what you're trying to say....just not sure why you're saying it how you're saying it. Like this:

The coaching staff made a mistake gassing up two immature players who should've earned things like touches and corner lockers instead of enabling them. I don't disagree.

People have looked statistically and pre-season performance as predictor is well above noise. It’s summer league that is total noise.

It’s not the coaching only, it was the coaches + the Front Office
On wording, you are correct, that’s the right way to put it. It’s just that @peleincubus was grappling to be fed, so I obliged…

Jalen starting the year off with yet another inefficient scoring performance. Jury is out...

Sengun and Jabari are clearly the best assets this team has at the moment. Very excited to see what they do this year.

I hope those guys will get some genuine opportunities. Saw some high-potential qualities in each of them in SL.

I thought they looked just OK for the most part. No one really played well in my view except for Jabari. Cam came on late which was great but I can already start to see he has too much tunnel vision, he'd rather force up a tough layup than dish it off.

Jalen and Sengun missing too many free throws, lack of focus/discipline. Defense had stretches where they seemed better but definitely some stretches that old habits came back. It's gonna be a long process and it's the first preseason game lol so not gonna overreact.

Hopefully over the next few months things start to tighten up on both ends.
