Just got back from the game. Fun time. Whitmore is a beast. Amen showed flashes.
FVV will be huge for us in steadying the ship. Alpi and Jabari gonna break out.

His shot is closer to a one motion than a two motion shot and is a fairly quick compact release. The only awkward part is the crossbody motion when going up with the ball. Maybe that what you mean by "wind up". But a "wind up" implies two motion.

He's a career 80 ft shooter. He'll be a fine, not great shooter.

It took 4 minutes for FVV to make a better pass than KPJ ever did in a Rockets uniform.

It's the first pre-season game so by no means am putting any stock into it, but I was disappointed with Green's game, would've thought for sure he'd come out engaged defensively but still made terrible reads/decisions.

And even saw one occasion yelling at a teammate for a defensive mishap... c'mon Jalen. Got to get every last KPJ influence out of this kid.

    Cam looks nice, real nice.

Landale didn't look anywhere close to the player I saw in Phoenix last season, hopefully just getting some rust out after the injury.

    Jabari looks to have improved.

    Tari is Tari.

Brooks in limited minutes I think showed more than enough to make me feel comfortable in my statement he'll become a fan favourite.

So you basically hate KPJ/Green and are highly fond of everybody else, did I decipher this right?

Ofc for this season his 3% needs to go up, I’ve just always been confident that it will happen, and not worried about one preseason game where he shot 1/5 on ft, clearly out of rhythm. It’s the decision making stuff that he’s never been consistent with, even though it’s completely repeatable, just a mind set to make the right play.

We played 17 players. Is that a Rockets record?

When is the deadline for cutting the roster to 15?

Smith is going to make all of last year's haters say they never said anything bad about Smith before.

Jeenathan might be a hidden gem.

Ime's presence already showing itself. This team looks 20x improved on defense.

Thought Amen handled the offense really well when Fred was out and was solid all around. Definitely looks to be pass first and I like that he's always looking for cutters like Cam and Tate. Have a feeling he will be feeding them alot this season. The difference between him and Nix as our backup PG is crazy right now. He'll be running the 2nd unit the rest of the season, no doubt.

Bari and Tari are gonna be menaces this season. They picked up exactly where they left off in summer league. I also like the little screens they have Fred setting for Bari. Gets Bari switched on the small man and makes it easier for him to drive inside.

They are actually running sets through Sengun. Coach used the term 'quarterback' when he talked about his role on offense. I USED TO PRAY FOR TIMES LIKE THIS

Yawn. Guess you missed me post about expecting a monumental leap from Green this season.

Pipe down or actually make a point as to why you think anything I said was 'hating'.

Guess you also don't know what putting no stock in something means.

Comprehension son, master that before you go quoting.

Also, maybe seek out the definition of decipher. There was nothing cryptic in what I wrote, it was spelt out clear as day.

I would put 0 stock into shooting performances or percentages. They fluctuate too much in a single game and frankly speaking development priorities for all of our players should be anything but how often they convert a bucket.

What is most important is whether the offense actually looks competent, and whether the players are more active on defense. From what I could see, it looks like we have pretty noticeable improvements in that area. Green shot poorly but his defense and playmaking was noticeably better. Jabari shot well, but the important thing here is his confidence around the rim which has improved noticeably (albeit still definitely room for improvement).

Amen actually looked a little out of control this game but it's pretty incredible how easily he gets right to the rim. He was just missing buckets that he has the potential to make and missing some passes that he clearly can make. He completely collapses the defense every time he drives.

Sengun is solid as usual but the key for him really is just taking the 3 point shot when it's there.

Not to put a curse on anyone, but I absolutely wouldn't mind if the Rockets were more careful with FVV and gave him plenty more rest this season. I really am quite keen to see the Amen/Jalen combo along side with Sengun and Jabari, because they are ultimately the future of this team and it would be nice to see who stands out.

If you are talking about this pass, it’s the easiest basket Jabari has gotten since becoming a Rocket.

Ime and Fred bring so much in terms of seriousness, composure, intelligence, demeanor to this team.
I got much better feel than the past few years with all the emotionality and circus that was the KPJ/Silas/Green/Christopher show.

Amen’s got the same alpha persona, he just needs to make baskets. Preseason is preseason, but is still more indicative than SL or pre-NBA. I feel a bit more certainty about Amen being an NBA player after tonight.

Two years poor coaching is affecting these guys too much. I don't see a big difference in out offense. They could not get much open shot during the game. Tari and Tate just doing what they did under Silas. It may take a long time to build a new system and I hope that Udoka will not be fired before it come.

This team still like a 30 win something else.
