Abreu says screw you people obsessed with OBP and OPS and the like. The last time I checked RBIs is king. He was brought over here to do just that and over his last 80+ games he's done it as well as anyone in baseball. 73 RBIs in his last 83 games.
I'm just going to say this one thing about Maldanado. This game is the reason Dusty keeps going back to the well. I honestly can't speak to whether Yanier would've called the same game and done the work when it was needed to keep Javier in check. Maybe that stuff is overblown but I'm also going to take the word of a likely future HOF'er in Adam Wainwright who was saying it's not...and that it's immeasurable the effect the catcher has on a pitcher and the staff. I don't disagree that Diaz should've played A LOT more throughout the regular season. I'm not going to get in to a pissing match about it either. This was maybe the best all around game they played this season.
I mean sure don't want a Game 5. And Lopez was great in Game 2, but he was very up and down in September. He got hit hard by Angels, CWS, and A's. So, doesn't mean he would have the same stuff or be as dominant in game 5.
Eh, Vazquez caught both of Javier's games in the 2022 postseason and he was every bit as dominant. I'm not saying Maldy had nothing to do with today's performance, but it looks like Javier is just that damn good in the playoffs.

I would prefer a curveball/slider arsenal for game 4. The Twins are struggling with it. However, Urquidy has gotten it done before.

Maldy was great today. Vasquez is a seasoned playoff veteran and WS champion, a complete 180 from rookie Diaz. Agree that Javier is just a PO animal .....
