Sengun is not in 51-100 and also he is not in "future prospects". It means that he is in top 50. I expect him to be in 35-45 ranking.
Update, unless he in the top 10.... he did not make the top 100. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/38625043/nbarank-2023-player-rankings-2023-24-50-11
This list is such a crapshoot, back like ten years ago when they first started doing it they had more people voting on it and it was more accurate IMO.
Only an idiot can make a list as Sabonis at #22 but Alpi is not in Top100. Alpi is a same level player of Josh Giddey and Franz Wagner. We don't know yet who will be the best player of '21 draft within this trio. Putting Josh and Franz to the list, even including Mobley and Barnes but not Alpi is a certain discrimination. Note: ESPN's NBArank panel, comprising nearly 150 reporters, editors, producers and analysts, was asked to rank players based on their predicted contributions -- quality and quantity -- for the 2023-24 season only.8 hours ago. At least we know where are the 150 Dummkopf gather around.
ESPN is pretentious sports drama masquerading as non bias substancial sports reporting, while flaunting their posh high heels. And viewers can’t take their eyes off their elegant style of presenting their snooty ways.
I love how emotional the most hardcore Sengunatics are over such a crap list. I could see this coming when people were assuming he was going to be ranked higher than Green or VanVleet.
If most of our players' flaws are invalid because Silas was a trash coach and we were tanking, then most of their accomplishments are as well. For a general audience, most of our team is an enigma. How much is real and how much is a product of the environment? This is basically the first year that anyone who hasn't been watching closely will see what any of our players really are. Hard to rank those types.
For those keeping score at home.... the top 10.. Last year ranking in parentheses 10. Anthony Davis (20) 9. LeBron James (6) 8. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (48) 7. Kevin Durant (8) 6. Jayson Tatum (7) 5. Stephen Curry (5) 4. Luka Doncic (3) 3. Joel Embiid (4) 2. Nikola Jokic (2) 1. Giannis Antetokounmpo (1) https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/38633041/nbarank-2023-player-rankings-2023-24-10-1
Rankings are subjective as always. most of these folks if not all aren't diligent enough to watch or follow these players enough to rank them properly.
Going to come at a different angle. Let's pretend this list is an accurate representation of the league's perception of the 3rd year guys. From a Rockets org pov (gm and fans of the team), could this be good for us? GM can use market value as a leverage to not overpay in extension for Green and Sengun. Where, we can still keep these guys on good deals and remain relatively flexible.
My response to these things continue to be "Why the F should I, or anyone else for that matter, care?!"
