I'm frustrated with Dusty too but he's been there done that too. He probably feels the best thing to counter the Twins hype and energy is to approach this game calmly like he would anyother game.
Here's how I see today playing out. The Astros will not be blown out early. The score will either be close throughout the game or the Astros get an early lead of 3 runs. Astros may lose late, but if they get an early lead- watch for this team to put them away. Twins have Correa, and he got us in Game #2, but it's our turn to counter. We've been here done that and today is no different. We don't press when the stakes are high- we multiply the scoreboard in our favor. It's hard to knock off the champs and Minny will find that out soon enough.
To be fair, Dubon has been a way better hitter than Chas for over a month now. I don’t think him playing instead of Chas has much impact on today’s game. That being said, it’s the continued playing of Maldy that is ridiculous. Chas or Brantley should be in the lineup instead of him. That’s a huge difference.
So much negativity and doomerism. Jeez Louis. “Quit thinking about what Bobby Lee’s gonna do to us and start thinking about what we’re going to do to him.” — Ulysses S. Grant
If I'm chas and dusty comes back next year I'm forcing a trade. Dude has come up big repeatedly on the biggest stages and gets benched for Mauricio Dubon lol. (I love dubon) What other manager in the entire league would bench a 20/20 guy with an ops of 840 in the biggest game of the year?
Diaz, Dubon, Pena, and Maldy are going to get nothing but sweepers and they're going to swing at all of them
"Been there, done that" = choked in the playoffs with bad decision after bad decision for 20 years until he got to "manage" a dynastic and stacked Astros team
Im waiting for the GF to get back from work so we can get to Target Field. I've started day drinking.
Confirmed it will be Joe Ryan tomorrow pitching for the Twins. Commentators on the MN Sports talk already talking about the "Texas Two Step" taking out Houston and Texas.
