Because they're at home and we have Javier. Even if we lose today, I'm 100% this goes 5 games and Astros advance to play the Rangers
Not sure if this is actually true but just heard on MN SportsTalk Correa said about the Astros: "I know what happens there when they lose a game. I know the speech they'll give. They'll be ready.. So will we..."
The media is hoping for the new darling of baseball to come around (and Correa being on the team is a bonus). EVERYONE outside of an Astro fan wants Houston to finally fall. I'm okay with that, because you have to be really, really good to have that much adversity against you. Let that fuel the Astros players into saying..
Puzzles or Astros? What a dilemma. It's not how loud they are in the first inning. It's how silent they are in the ninth inning.
No dusty he's played 2 games in a row with an off day yesterday. By this logic it's way past time to give maldy a break at catcher.
One thing to keep an eye on is Sonny Gray has only allowed 8 HR this season and per 9 innings has the lowest HR rate in MLB. His ear is sub 3. We need Javier to really come through as this could be a low scoring game. Also Royce Lewis is playing third today.
One intangible going for us is that Mn teams have been known to put up real stinkers in post season at home. The Vikings have many of these and the Twins were heavily favored against the Stros in 2020 but still lost twice at Target field. That said Correa hit a home run in one of those in Orange and there were no fans in the stands.
Why are there different rules for Chas? Abreu has been scuffling too but he doesn't get sat for it. He bats 5th every game regardless of his suckitude.
LOL Treating it like a casual May 15th game. “Aww shucks! [This guy] hasn’t played in a few days and I want to get him some ABs and need a rest day for [that guy].” Peepaw can’t be gone soon enough.
Abreu is our guy committed for two more seasons, have to make sure he's happy. McCormick is used to playing in the lower end of the lineup so easier to manager him there and keep most people happy.
Yeah thats entirely ****ed up. Complete bullshit. No reason at all to keep Abreu happy and not Chas. Abreu hasn’t earned that. Chas is committed too. We have team control over him.
Abreu is also a former MVP. He's not what he used to be but given Dusty's love for veterans he treats him with more deference than McCormick.
