i was being hyperbolic. i dont want innocent people killed. but when you see so many cheering on what happened, kicking and spitting on the dead bodies of women (many of whom were raped before being killed) its hard to feel like those people are deserving of any humanity or compassion. i posted a link to that PBS series on the troubles in ireland. its definitely worth watching. i started off thinking "f*** the british for what theyre doing"...but then the IRA starts bombing and killing little kids and even fellow catholics and it becomes impossible to feel sympathy towards their cause.
