The rational solution is pretty much what it was in the 90's. 1. Give the Palestinians a state that comprises of Gaza and nearly all of the West Bank. Water rights and control of their own borders. The problem with the Ehud Barak proposal was that it didn't give the Palestinian a continguous territory in the West Bank or water rights. 2. The Palestinians give up claims to the rest of the Israel and renounce violence. Neither side is willing to agree to those terms and the more blood is shed the harder it will be to get to those terms.
Can we also discuss how the Palestinian groups seem to always launch major offensives on religious holidays? Does Israel typically do this? I know the USA typically wouldn’t but we would prepare for an onslaught immediately preceding and after such holidays.
Welcome to the board Kevooooo, may I introduce you to the number one Joey Biden’s fan. Be careful with this one brah, he will call you a dumbass quicker than a silent fart. Lol Great post and may I add that Hamas is using schools, hospitals, places of worship to manufacture their incendiaries because they know the Israelis will avoid those targets. The Israelis always fired a warning shot to buildings to warn and to give the civilians time to get out. Hamas suicide bombers will not text you a warning message before they detonate!
Israel is a conventional military with significantly more means. The way they do civilian deaths is far more sterile and "clean" than how Mahas does it but at the end of the day the IDF is significantly more successful in creating a civilian death count than Hamas. But hey it's sterile and mostly done through ordinance drops so it isn't as viseral.
Nothing. And I mean not a damn thing. Should happen before Hamas/Palestinians change their charter and recognize Israel’s right to exist. Until that happens, Israel has every rational excuse to treat these territories as hostile. And again, it’s not the “Palestinians” it’s their leaders — who use them as pawns and don’t even typically live in the area. Arafat, wasn’t he an Egyptian and lived mostly in France. They’re being led and supporting people who don’t care about them. They’re just being used in a grander, antisemitic war against the Jews.
The very basic levels of 5 minute warnings to leave your childhood home exists merely because Israel is a officially recognized nation-state and want to continue being that. There is literally no other reason.
If the Palestinians were serious about peace, they would not put Hamas in charge- an organization that sole purpose, and only reason to exist is to destroy Israel... you can't negotiate with an organization that it's only reason to exist is to wipe off the map These animals will send a Facebook video of grandma getting chopped into pieces- they intend to cut a five-year-old hostage up into pieces and post it on video ... this is not how the Palestinians should have representation - it does nothing to get them ahead only death
What does Israel do before those ordinance drops? They send out leaflets and radio warnings. what does hamas do? They tell their people to ignore those warnings and they hide their weapons in hospitals and schools.
Fair. But that is the BASIC cost of peace. Germans can’t say “but I’ve hated Jews all my life, you expect me to change now?”
This is just an excuse brah. The truth is they have been conditioned to hate Jews the day that they were born.
Conventional vs unconventional. A military that is part of a officially recognized state this must do the bare minimum to be accepted into that order and a insurgent groups that is part of no officially recognized state. Less means in military options also means soft targets are more on the table as a unconventional force directly attacking a conventional force's base or caravan of up armored vehicles is suicide and doesn't do much.
99% agree but it should be noted that while polling shows support for hamas, they haven’t actually had an election in like 15 years. I want to say 2008? Could be off and too lazy to look up.
I would say it's very easy to condition them to hate Jews if they recall their neighbors' home getting levels a week ago.
The sad part most of these folks don't even realize that Hamas would never have been in power if it wasn't for Bush. PLO had firm control over the territory until bush decided that free elections in gaza was somehow needed. Hamas barely won by suppressing vote and have been in power since. How do people expect Palestinians to kick out hamas? Hamas is bad and should be thrown out but don't blame ordinary people
99% agree but it should be noted that while polling shows support for hamas Doesn’t do much? But attacking a civilian music festival does? Again, Iraqi insurgents didn’t struggle to attack the far more capable American military. The Vietnamese didn’t struggle. The Algerians didn’t struggle against the French… they still all managed to (mostly) target military or govt assets NOT civilians. There is no excuse, sir. None whatsoever. Collateral damage is one thing. They’re TARGETTING THEM DUDE!
So why did Bush allow hamas to come into power? PLO warned bush repeatedly that hamas would escalate the terrorist attacks.
Also sorry for all the double posts but my stupid phone doesn’t reset the field and it’s hard to delete paragraphs on this phone
I would say it's very easy to condition them to hate Jews if they recall their neighbors' home getting levels a week ago. At the ground level Palestinian kids are being medically related by people in Hamas. They are providing food banks and shelters also. These are things that residents in Gaza see everyday. Hamas more than likely provides these things but because of genuine care for their people but because they understand how to get the support of Gaza residents. So no I'm not trying to paint Hamas as some positive force. I'm stating that on the ground level, a Gaza resident is exposed to this stuff. It's very easy to see why a Palestinian would support Hamas if people just practiced the most basic forms of empathy which includes just trying to form a picture of their say to day lives.
