Yes Hamas is obviously to blame but why didn't bibi listen to warnings given to them by his allies? Why are MAGA turds blaming biden for something the israeli refused to listen about?
Maybe it's not a complete failure. Maybe someone wanted their 9-11 or their Pearl Harbor or their new Yom Kippur war. I'm not a conspiracy theorist by nature, but the world's top intelligence service missing something this bold (and in some ways clumsy) seems less likely than a top official ordering them to let it happen. Sad, but has to be considered, I fear. Especially for such a hard right government trying to keep power and achieve more unity.
There's a great podcast from Dan Carlin about the Apaches. How they taught their children from the time they're 2 or so about where to meet up in the wilderness after the white man came to burn their homes in the middle of the night...how to survive until mommy and daddy or someone else from the tribe could get to them. It happened so frequently that the children were given little packs to survive with. Geronimo was a captive for many years...and after he died in a hospital there, the nurses reported he had gone absolutely stark raving mad. Their accounts of his words and actions make it pretty clear to us today he absolutely had PTSD. Which is completely understandable given the fact that he lived in a culture where the expectation from experience was that someone with more weaponry than you wanted you and your children wiped clean of the earth. That they lashed out in anger and committed similar raids on their attackers and their families is to be expected. That reminds me of this.

The issue is that we’re able to talk to these people at all. Pre-internet we talked to those we saw. And if we said inflammatory things, we were either ostracized or reprimanded. The original cancel culture. Now we can actively talk to people across the Globe, publicly, about anything and everything. So instead of just telling their friends who would likely have identical political leanings that Joe Biden did this, they illicit responses from people who will call it out as being nonsense.

That is so sad, targeting civilians such as the people at the music festival is pure evil. I am not going to pretend I know much about this conflict other than to say it appears to have been going on forever, but targeting civilians is a low for any group and parading that poor girl through the streets in a pick-up truck naked (and spitting on her) is another level of evil, those dudes need to go straight to hell. I don't now their cause but they made a huge error including civilians.
As I've mentioned before I support the cause of Irish unification and have played IRA songs. I've also been to the memorials in Belfast and Derry for both Catholics and Protestants. I've heard firsthand from people in the Troubles and what they went through. It would be easy to just say it's human nature. Both sides pointed to the pain and suffering. Both sides could wrap themselves up in their own pain to justify what they did to each other. The hope there was that they were able to overcome it. Die hard enemies like Gerry Adams and Ian Paisley were abie to set aside hatred for a different path.
