Now that Israel has taken back control of all the towns that was attacked and is unleashing hell on Hamas. The next target will be Iran, countries will have to take sides now. WWW 3 is coming??
Tell us more about this please. Explain exactly what you are talking about. Are you referring to the book of Revelations? Because that's not exactly what I would call Peace. What does John say... 144,000 ethnic Jews will die, and the rest convert to Christianity?
Folks get triggered by the both side stance, but Israel response to Hamas act of cruelty/violence by simply unloading their superior weapons onto areas where Hamas control as retaliation is simply wrong due to the loss of lives of the innocent folks just trying to survive in Palestine. Two wrongs doesn't make a right. Outright Supporting Israel response is agreeing that killing Hamas with numerous innocent deathes as collateral damage is quite fked up.
And it absolutely doesn't help bring about an end to hostilities or increase the security of Israelis. Neither side seems willing to do what would need to be done for a workable 2 state solution. Israel would want to have enough Israeli folks there to just bring in Palestinians and not be outnumbered in elections. They are unwilling to annex everything when they would end up losing every election. They are unwilling to use land that can support an independent Palestinian people in any 2 state solution. That would make fewer Israelis willing to move there. Palestinians are unwilling to abandon those that would use terrorism as a means to battle Israel. So the conflict goes on and on.
Are you watching the 700 Club or something this morning? Or just Michael Flynns Twitter feed? Why do the Evangelicals get all excited about WORLD WAR 3 every time something happens in the Middle East? I grew up in an Evangelical household, and I really do hope that I get raptured before world war 3, and live for eternity because I asked God to save me in my mind, and got baptized when I was 8. I really do. However it's the Evangelical mindset of getting excited about a world war because of self centered righteousness that I find nauseating. You don't need to get your head out of the Bible, but I would recommend getting it out of the heads of the 700 Club type of Evangelical Christians who celebrate war in Israel and falsely claim to be huge supporters of Israel while also getting excited about the thought of half the population dying just because it means something good is about to happen for you.
This has been my personal belief for the longest of time and was echoed yesterday at church from my pastor. Getting into a discussion about my personal faith with you is futile. There is no point so I would just leave it at that.
I wish the answers to life's mysteries is as easy as the ultimate anime hero flying down from the clouds to save us all.
My father was a deacon in the church. I grew up in the same type of church you likely go to. I'm not one of those Atheists who thinks Evangelical Christians are evil idiots. I've seen many in my family go down the Revelation doomsday fantasy hole their entire lives. Maybe the world ends tomorrow, maybe it doesn't. But there's a serious lack of accountability here in this country for positions taken that seriously impact the lives of millions around the globe. I'm all for the right praying and worshiping as though the end might be near, but I wish their policy positions that do push the government in indirect ways acted as though the rapture might not happen tomorrow, and we still have accountability in this world beyond our selfish desires to live in eternity. What happens at the pulpit can trickle to Congress, the White House, and ultimately to the military decisions made. I would hope that your preacher would have a little more caution around blending Middle East policy into his Sermon, but unfortunately it happens all the time, and can create a destructive self fulfilling policy in Israel where millions of Americans say they are pro-Israel, but at the same time have self interest in seeing it's demise.
I am still saddened by what unfolded yesterday. I can’t imagine how much heartache those families are experiencing.
FYI Yesterday’s sermon was about sex and the last part of the marriage series. My pastor did not preach about the current conflict but he just said what I stated in my original post. But whatever!
This is not true. This is not a "both sides" thing. If the ruling faction in Israel were to view the other side as subhuman, they would have acted accordingly, but they have not.
They do definitely. The same way American settlers viewed the Natives. You never heard the official national leaders explicitly stated to commit genocide but they did state their intentions of Manifest Destiny which is a coy way of their intentions of commiting genocide. Western people have found cute ways to express their genocidal tendencies in more sophisticated ways where it can hide behind some level of plausibly deniability. Israel's version of Manifest Destiny is the "one state solution".
Religion often can be many things including a coping mechanism for people living shitty lives. It's much easier for a random Gaza resident to resort to religion to justify their existence and suffering than it is for privileged suburbanites. When you live a shitty existence you yearn for something more beyond this existence.
President of colombia compares Gaza to concentration camps from nazis... What do you think Why are people upset at this
