I’m just going to pretend we got Will Anderson with our first next year. In a class without any other DEs. Haha.
What would it cost to trade for a TE like Kyle Pitts? Probably too much. Feels like he'll be so good with a QB like Stroud throwing to him and our current offensive scheme.
BPA is always my choice. That's why I wanted Anderson last year. Buy it looks like we did good getting BPA AND BQBA. Position of need and Underwear Olympian are tie breakers.
Latest CBS mock has Brock Bowers headed here - that would be unbelievable. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft...ll-as-five-quarterbacks-are-taken-in-round-1/
I SERIOUSLY doubt the Texans are drafting a TE in the middle of round 1, unless he is Kyle Pitts freakish.
I don't know anything about him. So, I can't say. Edit: I have seen him a few times. I don't know if he is Kyle Pitts freaky.
Wasn't commenting on him directly. A TE in general. I did edit and said I had seen him a few times, but didn't really pay attention to him.
Scarface is onto something in regards to taking a TE high in a draft. Generally they dont pan out and are exclusively reliant on coaching for their success in the modern NFL. What Shanny did to Kittle doesnt give me a big confidence boost in having that type of talent here so Im still torn. I just found it to be interesting this early in the cycle. Personally im eyeing Leonard Taylor III as a guy who might be available around our pick. Really any high caliber DT would fit the bill.
If not WR (still not totally sold on ours) or DT (he better be good, bust rate is high), TE is an absolute need. BPA at a position of need (or just BPA?), depending on FA stuff. Bowers has elite hands, athleticism and WIGGLE. He won't be a road grader as a blocker yet is technically sound, but that's ok if you've got another one of those on the team. My thoughts are he just fits this offense so, so well.
Ask KC how much a "freak" DT or LB means to them compared to Travis Kelce... I think they'll take Kelce 100 out of 100 times
