People aren't realizing what's happening in Europe. Neo nazi far right are winning up and down in Europe simply running against the war and inflation. Germany, Estonia, everywhere you look and far right is gaining serious momentum. Finding a peace sometime over the next year in Ukraine is more important for global democracy than somehow Russia keeping some land in the donbass. Anyone who argues otherwise has no issue with far right sweeping power around the world
Again what you are arguing for is appeasement. This argument is basically Neville Chamberlain in 1938 warning about the rise of Fascism and then agreeing to surrendering the Sudentenland so war wouldn't happen. As stated Russia nor Ukraine are not showing any sign of wanting to stop fighting. Compelling Ukraine to just accept the surrender of their territory now will embitter Ukraine, fracture NATO, and embolden Russia.
Appeasement didn't work in 1938 cuz they were no nukes. Russia is not invading NATO ever nor are they invading any other countries in asia with a military that's been wiped in half. The chips export ban isn't allowing Russia to rebuild their military anyways. Please stop fear mongering to educated folks on the perceived threat of Russia. This isn't twitter. Finlands army is probably stronger than the current Russian army in Ukraine. Russia is not a threat to the west. It's a threat to Ukraine. Give Ukraine long term security assurance and sign a truce ASAP.
