I am a little perplexed on if I think the Dems should have helped, even without concessions, the alternative could be worse and at least the dems would at least have shown some support for him, and it would stick it to the maga folks. He created this, I get it, but at least he knew Gaetz was a POS and just to see Gaetz be defeated would have been nice.
I brought this up in the other thread but not MAGA Republican would Work with or support a GOP speaker who relied on Democrat votes. While 8 Republicans voted against his speakership there might be many more who won’t if they just feel McCarthy is just going to be a puppet of Democrats. he might see a defection of 20+ then.
