Of course there’s a problem with the old farts just being corrupt shills for the lobbyists anyways. Look at ole Bob Menendez as the most recent example. However you do have good senators in there and not all are corrupt. Not perfect but better than the alternative of having the lobbyists run the show directly and the senior staffers that run the Senator’s daily workload will be more powerful than the actual Senators because they’ve been running the show for years and when a Senator has to retire, the staffs will still be there for the new Senator.

Either way it’s never going to be perfect or close to it unless you have sweeping anti corruption bills passed that scotus can’t overturn. The corruption is the problem much more than whether or not the senator is young enough to run a marathon or do CrossFit.

Integrity is not a sometimes thing it is not something you can push aside - either you have it in every decision in life or you are lying about having it.

If you support Trump you have ZERO integrity and **** YOU .......no one with integrity can support this man knowing that he raped two 13 year old girls, that he commits fraud in almost every business like his fake school or his fake tax filings, or that he laundered money through his casinos....

Also you can not support Trump without wishing for the death of him, his supporters and others.

 

Newsom must really dislike Barbara Lee. But also, appointing an experienced lobbyist, as opposed to the progressive Lee, will get him brownie points with the Establishment Dems, which he will cash in on when he runs for Pres in 2028. So, it's wise. It's unfortunate, IMO, but it's wise, politically.

Barbara Lee literally went on national TV and bashed Newsom on live TV just last week. You lefties have no idea how to build bridges and you wonder why nobody likes you all.

Bernie sanders did not outgrow his vote share from 2016 in a single state. Not one. You folks have no idea how to build coalitions or build friendships in politics

Schiff or Katie Porter either. If he really hated Lee and wanted to endear himself to “establishment” Dems he could’ve appointed Schiff. I
