Some - those who you see showing humility and joy at having been wrong - were. These are true Astros fans, albeit they have a bit to learn about acting like you've been there before. Some - those who you see defending their comments and getting upset about being called out for being wrong - weren't. These are dallas ranger fans. Me? I root for the Astros of Houston, Texas, to win baseball games, and I don't employ declarative statements about how their season is over and how it isn't their year half the ****ing season in. Depends if they want to watch the Rangers celebrate the Divison on their home field, for a second straight day. They win, they at least don't have to watch Texas celebrate again.
When declarative statements directly opposed to the Astros winning (i.e. ****-talking) are proven wrong, you bet your ass I'm happy about it. Aren't you happy when the Astros win?
MLB has a long history of "playing it out until the end", even with teams totally out of contention if they're playing games that could affect the final standings. We'll see.
Take out the last "losers", and it's perfect. The back-handed compliment only works when you don't cancel it with an insult at the last second. Top notch set up, but botched the landing.
Tomorrow will come down to pride for the Mariners.....and we know they don't have any, Either way, the Astros make the playoffs, so that's fun.
